Weatherstrip

Hi all,

The PO of my Z fitted some ebay-spec weatherstripping that seems much too large for the car- it is causing me to have to slam the doors to get them to shut, despite any adjustments to the striker plate.

Given shipping from the US is a pain and expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations for UK generic or Z specific weatherstrip that will fit the 240Z?

I got mine from Woolies Trimmers. I think they can provide samples if you ask for them so that you can get the right size stuff. I think I also saw a door seal set for a 2 seater from Australia but don't know if the shipping etc is any less expensive.

The aftermarket door seals have always been an issue but people used to use kia or Hyundai door seals I think but they are hard to get as the cars that they came off are older and more scarce now. A Google search might help.

I bought door seals in October 2021 which fitted nicely on my 240z. Have a search on ebay under seal-extrusions (the item seller) and key words "large door seal mini" . The full item description is "Large car rubber door seal trim Mini MG VW FORD Toyota Universal fit - bonnet"
Worked on my car but make your own judgement

That’s a great shout! I have the same door slamming issue - will order some of this and report back for a cheap experiment!

Hey @Zouki I went down the Woolies route. Ordered a few samples and tested them by area to see which fitted best. It worked quite well for boot seal(s), doors etc. It’s a bit more diy than a proper kit but seemed to do the trick on mine.
