Spa-Francochamps Classic 28/29 May 2011

Don't worry total gas station is at the entrance of the track

Sylvain and Sean, is this petrol normal pump price or very inflated track price? I'm going to fill my car and a 20 ltr can before Spa.

Normal - the total price will be more and especially next to the circuit - I remember filling up 5 jerry cans (2x) for the 6hrs for Roland Ratson in 2006

Last time for me was 2007!

The station is outside the circuit.

I would say about the price of a motorway station but not "race petrol" pricing.

If you can fill in before, that should be at lower cost.

I got the tickets yesterday

I'll send them to you tomorow!

Take care, on Friday, you have to be at 11am

hard wake up as the forecast! :smash:

Sylvain, I got my tickets today - thank you

Looking at them and the information provided I don't think this is true:

For organisation, yes 80€ means 2 sessions of 25mm according to booking
sheet.

I had the organiser on the phone, he told me that was not as Le Mans
that is more a "parade". Spa should be full speed.

As far as I can see we get one session (I've only been provided with a 'window sticker' for one session per day). Also it does call them 'parade laps' and mentions the 'pace car' and states that they are indeed the same as Le Mans Classic. It also states no crash helmets needed. We must attend a briefing beforehand so we will find out more then.

I understand that people on these laps cannot drive at race speeds for safety reasons, after all we do not have to comply with strict racing requirements. I just hope they are not too heavily controlled after all we have paid E80 for each 25m session.

However I'm sure we will have a fun time and we are looking forward to it. The whole race weekend should be fantastic.

If it was anything like Pau last weekend - you won't be disappointed - look out for the video on youtube this weekend (Datsun 240Z Pau 2011) and reportage elsewhere here with photos.

Good news for tickets.

Info I provided at first time was directly given by organiser on the line.

They told me that it would not be a parade like Le Mans but every one at his own speed. Of course people do not have to be crasy !
The track is theoricaly limited to 100 car a session and they limited at 80.
At this time, Saturday is 80 cars, Sunday 40 cars and friday, I don't know but probably less.
Remember it is a very large track!
Peace car will be a GTR R35 driven by a professional pilot... I think that will not be an issue

Despite I cannot do anything, I am not comfortable with that 2x25min that has become 1x30min at same price...
Sorry for that.
I asked to organiser but I didn't get any clear explanation.

I assume there is something to do with the lose of their major patner (NIssan west Europe) due to Japan tsunami consequences.

Anyway as you state, I think that will be great!
:driving:

Well, Spa Classic is now over, but memories will keep images that are engraved forever!
Thanks to Rob, Lee, John and Matt for their efforts to come, but as I understand, it really turned to something not to be missed...
It was a pleasure to meet you personnaly, and I am sure that you enjoyed as we did!

I was driving back home safe this morning, under the sunhine of Spa Francorchamps, and a smile on my face thinking about all what we experienced together during those three days.
Welldone guys, and we have to organize some more.

Reims...September,17 and 18?
No track, but nice roads around... and local specialities...

A big thank you to the Z club of France for organizing, inviteing and makeing us so welcome. Had the time of my life and enjoyed every moment. The track sessions were amazing and the whole atmosphere was superb. I'll upload the video of the last days session which was the result of 2 days intensive coaching (shouting) from Matt. I feel I've moved to the next level and no longer consider myself a noob.

I have so much to say but not time tonight. What a fantastic experience, we had such a wonderful time and everything worked out so well! We got back safely but Lee has had his cambelt break today so he's going home from my house on a truck, hence the quick reply.

The track was amazing, the hospitality was excellent, weather was hot and sunny most of the time and the racing fantastic. My 'old nail' never missed a beat and did us proud.

Thank you so much Z Club France, we had a wonderful time and I for one will NEVER forget this weekend!

Sean, you were right, the track sessions were not restricted - amazing.

Hubert and Sylvain get a very big thank you from us! Sylvain I hope your engine is not too expensive to repair - you are MAD!

I've uploaded the same video but in HD for those who want to see it in better quality.

On my way to the New Forest now for a more relaxing break. Although yesterday was manic with catching up on work , fixing the truck for this morning, and trying to pack all the camping gear.

Hi, it’s Michel from Switzerland,
I had a very nice time there and was very pleased to discuss with you. I really enjoyed Sunday’s diner

Michel, you were good fun, I'll always remember the '**** in the woods' comment and impression .

I will post pictures via photobucket but here is one I wanted to take of my car because I have a print in my lounge of M Schumacher in an F1 Ferrari at the same place. Similarity - both cars are red
