Spa Classic 24-25-26 Mai 2013

Excellent video. I can fully understand the laughter in the car - these old cars shouldn't go that fast. Last year when John took me round in his car I did exactly the same and when the video was played back it sounded stupid.

Sylvain your car is very quick however down the straights John just disappears into the distance. It's not an equal competition.

Guys you need to book a 'proper' trackday for this speed of driving though.:smash:

My car has improved especially mixture is now proper when exiting corner thanks to special carb bowl vents now. So i have engine to exit corners and don't have to wait anylonger :D

And rear disks keep cool... that is great

But i had nô front Sway bar due to teared front rail at camping

After fixing, I could go faster in corners... perhaps keep contact but but John would stay impossible to get in straight especially at the Comble where he is 20mph faster...

That is Darwin's fault! My ol' L gata cannot do more without turbo or full race compression ratio :)

With the massive number of GTR's and the special sessions for them, I think they could consider special Datsun/Nissan sessions!

That would be good

Hubert, I like the Z32 and you appear to have 'bonded' with it. Your 280ZX SC is too noisy :smash:.

Don't underestimate Hubert's car. It's not only fast but quick through the corners too. I had to pick my moment to pass him. Sylvain, you were quick through the corners despite you front anti roll bar not being attached to the car. Your also much braver than me on the brakes. I'll try harder next year but I'm always thinking that the car needs to get me home.

Yes, Hubert's Z32 appeared to be going well.

Sylvain, I would be interested to know how refittiing the 'sway bar' affects your front end. I sometimes thought that my front MSA bar was a bit stiff and affected 'turn in'. I was told to soften the front end but of course they are not adjustable. My plan for a wet day was to slacken the drop-link nuts but I sold the car before I had a chance to try it.

I have by the past tested some combinations of front/rear diameter

My feeeling is that... MSA kit is just too stiff, front and rear for a road/sport usage. For a pure track car, it is fine but on road, it is too stiff.
Also by increasing the bars, the car is now quite dangerous without the 225 tyres.
With my wolfraces and 10years old tyres... the car is just scaring

With less on the front (while unpluged front or previously when I oversized rear), I feel the car more oversterring... but hard to say because my semi slicks was new on front and not semi any longer on the rear this WE; so lots of parameters are different between "tests".

Even during the rain on sunday, I didn't have any understeer (with front "unplugged")

Also my car is not well balanced. Rear is for an unknown reason lower than front... Probably with a 1 additional inch lowered front, that would be different.

All that is just "feelings"... difficult to put facts on it

Just watched Friday's so far - fantastic fun. Your cars are sooooo good. John you need to get on that track on a trackday so that you don't have mobile chicanes to worry about.

Matt must be a great help to you.

Loved it!

....There is a moskito in the mirror :D

... and it won't go away!

Watched the wet one now. I was feeling the tension with the conditions.

I like Matt's comment 'steer it with the back end' .....

The GTR was quick!

Great videos.

Just watched these -great videos! Loved watching you blaze past everyone! My palms were sweating watching the wet session though. Yikes...

Finally got a chance to watch these.
Not so much fun in the wet.
And is it just me or are there a lot more of drivers just happy to cruise along on the racing line this year.
Surely when they see a faster car coming up behind they should pull over off the racing line.
Mind I suppose many would'nt know where the racing line was!

I loved it but always come away frustrated that I didn't push harder and always braked too soon. I should have pushed a lot harder in the wet too as those 888's have so much grip. Doing 130+ in the wet at the ends the the top straight was a bit scary when you can't see the bend for the fog.

Seen it on Motors TV today. Very wet! Nissan and Datsun France mentioned quite a lot.

impossible to watch it... Motors Tv is not any longer avalaible on my Tv provider except in a 300€ option :(
