That's a great point - the spoiler is a fibre glass one and it does look further back than it does on the other side. Also the screws holding her on aren't all looking linear - so it will be my first port of call. Also the panel fit does need more attention than the PO gave it.
Not sure where the datum points are or what measurements I should look for - are they in the FSM?
MaximG - I had the same thought. The car does drive dead straight with hands off the wheel and 100% well behaved under heavy braking. But you never know, so good to check these things. I have found many mechanical things on the car weren't bolted up correctly by the PO (also electrical, my sweet spot) so it wouldn't surprise me to find it's something simple.
Some of the things the PO had done were truly
outstanding e.g. the washer bottle pump stopped working - I found a 50Amp(!!!!) fuse there. When I replaced it with something more sensible it popped again after a drive / usage. I found that at the bottom of the washer bottle he had left naked wires that were touching as I cornered. So I have been "auditing" all electricals and some of the mechanicals; finding lots of "entertaining" quick wins, such as the loose drop links I mentioned previously, brake shoes upside down, finger tight header nuts, live unused wires behind centre console left bare, missing bushes in throttle linkage / gear lever etc etc - the list is long and distinguished, like my Johnson (name that movie)
but all have been pretty easy to sort.
Anyway, going off topic now.
