Pete, when it comes to undersealing time, what product do you think you'll use?

(jumping ahead a fair way there. lol)

Looks spot on Pete!
We have got similar stands and bodywork mountings on the track pug, Have you any thoughts on an easy way of getting the car on the stands fast without jacks and blocks of wood etc???

no Matt you need to jump back.......Post 54.........;)
......
.
So a few weeks on and with all the welding done underneath and seam sealer in most of the joints it was time to get some primer on the floorpan etc.
This will be followed by a coat of stonechip before I apply the final gloss coat.
Not sure what you mean by "underseal"???? was it some old 20th century concept????
:D:D:D

I was lucky enough to spend some time wth Pete last weekend and see the progress myself. All I can say is eye opener. The level of detail and thought that has gone into to the build so far is amazing. The quality of the work is a testament to the men building this. I am looking forward to the next update whenever that may be as this isn't being rushed, it's a labour of love.

well thats very kind George but in reality...............................................

the rally type work is just par for the type of build. I was doing the same thing back in the mid seventies on Mini shells.
Work on the S30 shell is relatively straightforward cos I have Laurence at Star Motorsport advising and suppling laser cut panels .
Steve and me are producing a workmanlike quality job but its not ultimate.
It isnt being rushed cos Im old now and cant rush and Steve has several other priorities in his busy life. Work, family etc.
It isnt a labour of love... Im not giving it away for free at the end... however much you wish I was:D. In fact the anti pmac brigade will be frowning at all of this cos in reality its just a big extended free advert that isnt in the classifieds.

If you are looking for the next update then its here... today. temps on 19-20 and dry still air are ideal for painting so I chucked 2/3 coats of shiny stuff over the roof n sides.
.................................
Im nearly done on the shell . So another couple of updates should see it finished.
So I can then move on to more interesting stuff that sholud be more fun.

Ah ha!! the power of the internet.;)
Several other people also "want it"
Big question is have you got the wonga?????

:rofl::rofl:

It's looking good Pete

Hope you haven't sprayed over the Safety Devices 'legality/identity' sticker (not the name one in shot).

No, decent gravity fed gun, driven from a decent compressor, just Pete is blind and thinks a crankshaft, engine block or a tool chest looks something like a 240 shell so it needs spraying

I suppose that all depends on the condition of the shell

Pete: Is that a Nissan white or other? That'll be two white 240 rally cars then:cool:

Well time passes Nigel but here is a reply.

It wasnt Nissan white it was Jawel Paints White.
But its Nissan white now cos its on a Nissan.;)
Anyway having spent the summer repairing a damaged Z32 slicktop and getting my own Z32 slicktop on the road finally it looks like the rally car is next in the queue . There is just a quick job on a V6 Cosworth engined Opel Manta to sort out first(with twin turbos!!)

Well there is tumbleweed blowing thru my my garage as I have been "working elsewhere" on a house restoration.
So when I got the door open at the begining of this month I found my rally car project... and made a start(again)
Pics...........................
