selling parts at the JAE

I,ll buy your,s...............(Been looking 4 you on other Thread!) Burger,s are sixty quid each provided you bring your own filling....DJZ 60.

Just latched onto this thread and I'm almost happy I can't make it to Billing this year - no parts !
I can't believe our Club has let this event be directed against our long held principales - inexpensive camping weekend, easy going atmosphere and freedom to buy and sell those second hand parts !
I repaeat what I said somewhere else - the Z Club needs to organise a Z/ ZX exclusive event WITH parts sales and say goodbye to Billing ! It was fun but aint no more !

JAE at Billing is the best Jap Car show in Britain, bar none.
No good whingeing on about wot it was or wasnt, you cant turn the clock back.

Sean,s not whinging!, I paid him real good money to say what he did and I really do feel guilty his head is being put on the guillotine. I was wondering when sean would appear on this thread, View,s from both side of the fence & both side,s of the channel regarding sale of part,s,& not Billing as a location.Thank god place isnt called "Pearl Harbour.........DJZ 60.

Hi,
The JAE may be the biggest event on the Japanese car Calendar, but whether it's now the best is still open to debate!
In reality, how many Z Club members actually turn up to Billing now?
It is now no longer an event influenced by the Z Club and we are mere participants in the greater scheme!
This may be a watershed year for the event, now that it's being run by an outside concern...it could be make or break time!
However, at least our show area won't look like an autojumble this year!:D
Cheerz,
JEZ

at least 10% of the membership and that is quite good in car club life
also the reason it isn't influenced by the Z Club is because of the lack of young blood coming into the club and offering to help organise the thing
in reality the influence in organising the whole event virtuially stopped when Gilly Hall resigned from the committee

from what I,ve read on other forums and in other clubs magazines that club they are all excited about JAE with the exception of us on here and the Toyota Enthusiasts Club

Remember the good old days at Billing when a lot of the Z Club membership moaned about their attitude towards us

Seems to me we are swinging more towards the Z Register/TEC style of club and away from the more modern 300zx and 350Z style of clubs

In view of this it dosn't suprise me that our membership is growing and ours is falling
and if anyone in the club thinks that the size of membership dosn't matter they are living in cloud cookoo land

going to billing in a couple of hours and I will enjoy myself being with the 99% of the people attending the whole show who
enjoy themselves

I'm glad to see from some of the members profiles that there are people in the club in their twenties, who are obviously not in the club for nostalgic reasons, but because z's are great cars :) Long may this continue.

I only raise this as I saw an article recently that proclaimed nostalgia was the the kiss of death for cars from the 50's, as once those people who are nostalgic for these cars are no longer around then no-one wants the cars and they invariably end up in the crusher.

z's of course are far better than your bread and butter cars from the 50's, but a tale worth relating anyway.

I am doing my bit to brainwash both my sons into z ownership later in life. Hopefully I won't have to do too much, just let them see how good the cars are :)

Welcoming the 300/350 owners, I believe is a necessity as how else is the club going to be relevant for the majority of todays younger drivers?. It will benefit the older cars too as the 300/350 owners get to mix with the older 240/260/280 crowd, and raise the profile of of both cars. As there are a lot of modified early cars in the z club this goes someway towards 'bridging the gap' between what the older and younger owners see as exciting.

for what it's worth

Some excellent point,s & valid view,s . I think a Z is a Z ,be it just coming off the production line,or in it,s current thirty-odd year,s state. I don,t think it,s just the older generation that buy & maintain the 240/260/280 car,s & the twenty year old,s buying& upkeeping 300/350 car,s That is 1st degree nonsense! Lot,s of young & older member,s have model,s right across the Z marque,&" Nostalgia" is anything that is past,yesteryear or yesterday. The car,s speak for themselve,s and have a huge worldwide following & interest.............DJZ 60.

why cant there just be 1 club and sort out yer differences between certain clubs ie just swallow it and smile

I hear what you,re saying It doesnt matter who you are, where you live or what club you belong to.It,s the love of the Z series which is important, I love my Z even if I didnt belong to a club or for that matter, even when I,m on the Bog!.....Anyway Derek Sulley has organized a Z autojumble?Swapmeet Nottingham on the 11/12 september So all those with bit,s for sale or looking to buy bit,s We,ve got What has stopped at Billing ,PARTS that you can sell or buy ,display your motor,s meet-chat We can make this how we want it. See Derek,s Thread in 'show,s' forum............WHO,S GONNA BE THERE????.....DJZ 60.

You, Bar-steward! ,Check up on U.s law,s & regulation,s.No smoking! ( unless you go to the Grand canyon) & if you do a" live"gig make sure your top attraction on "The Billing!...DJZ 60.

Paul, you,re supposed to be shammying the Z? Thought you,d ave been on the M1 by now..............DjZ 60.

BACK FROM BILLING! Went on sunday and met up with Steve Burn,s for the 1st time and guess what He is human,a nice guy,and does have excellent skill,s in the role he play,s within the club, also metStatus,Pmac, Albrect ,Blackbug,Z bloke, Phil Miller & the wonderful Mr.F who stood there like a powerful greek god.!I met a few other people and some of them don,t use the forum, and managed to convince them that they should. There,s many more member,s that I missed who were not there on sunday but perhap,s they went on Saturday. The JAE, Billing 04 was an overall success and thank,s all for the immense hard work that you all put in. As alway,s proud of the Z club, and look forwards to the Z AutoJumble Nott,s 11/12 sept see Show,s on Forum menu organized by DEREK Sulley.......DJZ 60.

Sean ,Billing will be, and essentially remain what it is.A japanese car event, now featuring a participitating guest appearance by the Z club.this is akin & alike The British Armed forces" guest" appearence on the U.s policies.I feel that the Billing event,s magnetism is due to people being in awe of the scale of it. I myself look forwards to a smaller all- Z event in the shape of the Nott,s do on september, this maybe a small event but every one that attends will have space, and won,t get lost in a sea of car,s .we can display car,s without distraction,s, chat without screaming, and go home with some bit,s ,as opposed to going home with a packet of crisp,s!I say give everyone an open choice to go where they want and to have a say in what type of function they want.finally anwering your question if I get what I want at an event I will go, If I dont get what I want (partsale) at Billing I will not go in the future. This is only my personal view. I am being point -blank honest I hope this has answered your question............................................DJ(Red)Z60.

No parts,at any event ,Then there,s no attraction for me.So I,ll meet up with member,s at pub,s& local meet,s which can be arranged via phone,e-mail etc......................DJZ 60.

So all you tired commitee member,s out there, that,s one less job for you to do in your busy lives, don,t bother with an autojumble it,s too much work and I wont be Begging on my knees for one anymore ......................................Happy Xmas........DJZ 60.
