Yep, I am a smug bunny...at least I am a paid up Z club member ;) I would do more for the z club, but for me there are 3 or 4 fundamental issues to overcome before that would happen, and I don't see that happening in the distant future.. I do appreciate what is done by the commitee members though (past and present). Take a bow.

Oh Grolls, you are awful!!!!

My dear friends - I've been a paid up member for over 20 years, 16 of those overseas with associate membership for some of that so financially, I've supported The Club as has my Father and his Z31 for 1 year. If I and heare not paid up members now, Mr Burns and some of the committee know why and to keep it short, Ifelt (feel) that The Club didn't support me in one subject. Moving on :

Ian - if you have 3 or 4 fundamental issues to overcome, overcome them from the inside - wait not for miracles and dreams to happen !

I also appreciate what is done by some committee members and also that some are overworked and that some issues don't get addressed quickly enough or at all because jobs are doubled up.

Grolls - if you gave more to the club than you send up in smoke a week, we'd have a mag. back !

Interesting thread!

id just like to say without this forum id be pretty damn stuffed with my project!! i know enough about cars to get me by, and even more so now about the z31 and i have the guys here at this forum to thank for that. everyone is VERY freindly and understanding( even if a noob isnt sure what he is on about ) ( me )

i think 15 quid for all the advice i have ALREADY recieved is peanunts to be totally honest, and im going to become a paid member just as soon as i can. i bet if i had bought a shell with nothing else, i could source parts, and get a ton of online help rebuilding it!!! and for free!!! id hate to hazard a guess on how much a hardbook with all this info would cost, or a consultation with a specialist for that matter!

i think all the guys that make this club happen deserve more recognition for the work they do, be it a day a month or an hour a day.

i have to admit when i started to read this thread i did chuckle a bit at the start, so what if it takes 2 days to approve a picture!? sean, if it was that important surley you could have pm'd the fella who owned the pic and had it sent via email? (just my opinion buddy)

paid members or not, there is no need to roast the staff over a picture, this isnt pre-school boys. a bit of respect goes a long way.

anyway without putting myself in the firing line any more than i have, i bid you all a good day :)

ps: id just like to thank all the staff for the great work your doing, forum looks sweet, easy to use and navigate. keep up the good work :)

Mark,

It was a friendly jibe that was taken out of all proportion from someone who took it personally because he was doing all the work. I didn't know that it was he doing all the work and neither did the other committee members. Said committee member was probably having a bad day anyway (I didn't take his comments personally and anyway, he was my best man at my first wedding so don't get defensive ok - I wasn't attacking !

That said, I wasn't going to be slagged off either so I helped evolve the subject into something more constructive because I too love this club and it has given me more (with me investing too btw) than I have taken but that is mainly through meeting other members, something that this site doesn't do !

Remember that this club didn't exist overnight and is the result of many different people giving different parts of their life to it at different times - I like to include myself in this here.

One of my points is that as an overseas member, I don't get the same benefits as a UK member may enjoy so why not a reduced fee. No, not because I want to pay less because during I don't know how long, I was paying a full overseas rate when it wasn't necessary and also for another period, a joint membership when that wasn't necessary. When I WANT to re-join (and not when any of you pressure me into it) I'll happily pay the £15 so I can really start questioning the club and how it's run (it seems the only obstacle that most of you can throw up that I haven't paid so shut up) - just wait

No, there are plenty of overseas forum members who could be encouraged to join and the club gain some money if those members believed they got something for their money !

So, as before when the mag was being issued, an overseas rate and UK rate !

On a personal note to you mate, and don't take this badly please, I joined the club BEFORE I had a Z and you've been on here since May - go to the front page, click on join and pay up NOW, not just as soon as you can.

ouch!! thats put me in my place! lol

would you like me to  down and clean your shoes too?

i didnt realise it was a freindly jibe my good sir, so my appologies to you.............

as for paying up right now, its kinda impssible, ALL of my money goes on my z at the moment, and i do mean all. i go with out beer to buy filler for her! im not like a few members who have 5k + to blow on there build. im doing all the work myself to save money and its coming along well :D, however, when i do get a spare 15 bucks and the z's not looking i will be more than happy to donate it to the club :)

when i said this i was not having a dig at you sean! i was simply stating that 15 quid isnt alot for what you get

No it isn't (and I didn't take it that you were having a dig - have to try harder than that :p) but justify that to all the other overseas members - even 20 more at £5 a head is an extra £100 quid a year that the club isn't getting now ! A £100 must go nicely towards the programmes and lodging of this site !

Cough up your £15 now and I'll do the same.

Lead by example and besides, if you're in front of the screen, just type in the word you want on Google or whatever and it'll correct it - couldn't be simpler but I agree with you, the 'system' is breaking down but then it's been trendy for years in the media and advertising to abuse the language, now with mobile phone and all, it's a disaster !
