Project 240z gunship

Suspension

The TIG welding was done at MEC engineering in Usk, Matt the owners is very good friend of mine. He also had to machine out 0.25mm from the ID of the coilover collars for me as they wouldn't slide over the legs.

They also made the locking collar bases for me out of a solid tube of steel on the Lathe.

I'm very happy with the work they did.

Arches

Drilling holes in the side of my car is a new experience for me and rather nerve racking I must admit. I haven't cut the arches yet as I want to adjust the suspension and let it sit for a while before taking the grinder to it.

first time out of the crime scene tent in over a month

I know it needs to be lowered an inch or two but it still looks mean.

Its obviously not to everyone's taste but I love it.

What width and offset are your rear rims?

Really liking the paint job, looks really unique! Will look badass when you've lowered it some more. What else have you got to do now?

I'm running 17x9.5 ET-19 on the rear , with 245/40/17 so there is a little stretch but nothing stupid .

Only the horn left to do . I think the relay is dead .

Once MOT'd I'm going to paint it, I'll try and let a few of you see it .

After that it will be interior and change the cam.

Befor giving up on the relay get someone to push the horn and see if you have power to the horns. The horns often seize up from lack of use. A gentle tap can get them operational again..

Thank MaximumG , the both horns were dead as door nails and the relay was full of dust, looking back at the build thread on ratsun it looks like this car hasn't had a horn for at least 4 years.

Air horns it is then, just kidding.

Looks good Adam, can't wait to see it on the road I'll have to come and see it when I've got a bit more time (exams and wedding out the way). Maybe I'll make a start on mine then haha!

Hello Adam. I thought I'd drop by to see how the Z is coming along. Do you have any current pictures, or progress to share? Glad to see it is getting some love! I wanted to flare it, and add a spoiler, when I had it. Looks awesome! Glad you are sorting out the rust, too. Good job!

Interested to see where the car is at present - in terms of further mods, colour etc. I quite liked the matt green ...

It gets a ton of attention! Adam has done a nice job so far. I hope he's kept going on the build, as I'd love to see the car closer to the ground, and finished.

Adam, did you keep the grenade shift knob in the car?

Hi Maltese !!! Cheers for checking and looking at my progress :)
Nice to pick up where you left off , all the mods and upgrade work you did gave me a great base to work from.
I have been working on it constantly and have taken hunderds of photos , it is looking great now.
I will up date the thread shortly ,I'm happy to send some photos to you by email PM me your email address. It is no longer green and the Grenade gearnob has been taken out but will be used in my 300zx (when I get it)

The car is now a lamborghini grey colour :)
