Orange LHD 260z

This is going to be my daily driver and on first impressions it fits the bill well. Another extremely solid car with no signs of rust or repairs. Great interior and everything works including the radio with 8 track player. Runs well. Starts first turn of the key. Pinks on load so will have to look into that. Front dampers are well gone so will need changing. Looks like it had complete new brakes that have never been used. Wheels suit the car and the paint in very presentable but not perfect. Would really benefit from a cut back.

I'll MOT it this week and I have a new daily driver.

Ooh that's ncie.

A few changes (rubbers, 5 speed and a dash cap....yummee !

Did they all have a fuel filter at the rear , Does it have one of those stupid contact-breakers between the battery and inner-wing plate ?

Late '73 or deffo 74 ?

John, I can tell you have fell in love with that one and I can understand why. Are you now understanding why I like original cars as well as modified cars.

Sill to wing joins seem too obvious (large step) however otherwise it is a GREAT car.

Enjoy!

These LHD cars are all a bit new to me so I don't a lot about them. Just that every one has been different. Also I know very little about the 260.

Its 10/73.

Its got a filter and pump at the rear as well as the filter and mechanical pump at the front. Also a rear antirolbar.

I spotted that one when it was for sale. It looked like a very nice car and a great deal. Your photos confirm that. Nice work getting it!

It took a very long time to buy this car as the seller was very hard to contact and kept changing his mind about how to pay. At one stage I was confident I had lost all my money and he had disappeared. Eventually with the assistance of the shippers I was able get the car collected and taken the 4 day road trip to the port. Looks to have been worth it in the end but too many late nights and phone calls into the early hours of the morning.

Hi Jon, after all the uncertainty with the transaction, I'm pleased that it all worked out for you. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Just wishing that I had upped my bid on that one....sob.
Great buy!

I didn't bid on it (from what I remember). It was bought outside of ebay and quite a while after the first auction. I expressed my interest and asked the seller a question. A couple of weeks later he contacted me to say the buyer was messing him around and was I still interested. I made him an offer, which he accepted. Then after I paid he put the car on ebay again!! Its a very long story and I'm sure the guy is OK, just too busy to be contacted when you need to talk.

Blimmey. Just looked through my messages and it was back in June I bought the car and its only just arrived. Must have been the first one I was looking at. This car started it all off with my search for a rust free daily driver.

Not as bad as the white one that went from Omaha to new York. They should have left it in California.

Long story.

Shipper only picks up from seatle area early in the week but didn't get time to pick mine up. Then when he did arange to collect he had a bad time collecting the car before mine so just quite. The next driver wouldn't go up that way but when they finally got someone he missed the appointments twice. I eventually got a text at 2 in the morning their time, that the driver had just turned up. He then went sick half way through the journey to LA so went missing for a few days. Eventually got to LA and the first port the boat stops at is only a few miles from where the car was collected from. Madness.
