Personally i wouldn't bother with paint of any kind in this situation, but as the final treatment a decent wax worked well into the edges/seams with a brush, and look to check and re-treat every few years or so.

Can you recommend a particular wax ?
Something heavy duty I guess ?

I need some help before I pull my hair out
Infuriating #1 : roof trim, rear vinyl panel that holds the rear of the roof trim to the roof. I cannot find the bolts/screws/clips that need to be used to fix it
please someone let me know what I need to order to get this panel connected back to the car ?!

If you know the part number, you can reverse engineer it to figure out the specs of the fixing.

Emblems placement guides
Folks
Does anyone know of any guides that show you how/where to place the emblems ?
I've had to get some replacement emblems - couple of them are sticky backed rather than pins and was wondering if there are any fitting/measuring guides for the emblems ?

I think there are some floating around for the holes, genuine badges have pins, stick on ones are reproductions I believe.

Radiator Replacement & Hoses

Folks
Wondering if anyone can recommend a radiator replacement for a standard 280z ?
While I am at it I want to replace all the piping so suggestions for this would be good too

I'd like to do it myself so something as close to plug and play as possible would be great

Don't know about hoses, but I just had my 240z rad refurbished by a company called Nissens

Have a look at the link for explanation 👍

I have a radiator leak that seems to be coming from the bottom of a smaller radiator in front of the main radiator

Can any of you confirm that this smaller radiator is a auto transmission oil cooler radiator ? Online info (or at least my search engine terms) are inconclusive

I *think* the auto trans coolers are integral with the main radiator. I'd guess an extra radiator in front would be for AC. Do you have AC?

I am extremely embarrassed to admit that I had no idea if I had AC or not

After some googling and a freezing trip to the garage it turns out that I do have AC and the smaller radiator is indeed for AC :banghead:

I will have to source myself a replacement for this also - ebay, here I come (jeez, they are expensive)

The auto oil cooler is indeed integral to the radiator, I ordered this one so hopefully it will do the job for a while https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/234333036731

Good to know
Unfortunately I ordered a condenser so it should be on its way
But I might be interested in some of the other parts - but won't know until I've tested the AC fully (get it filled up and running properly)

I'll let you know

Door cards
I finally got the door cards finished and installed
Lock and window mechanisms all oiled
New plastic sheeting installed
Doorcard on

Spent a load of time trying to add the silver strips back on top and bottom of the wooden inlay
In the end decided not to bother and painted them black too - easier but also looks better (to me)
