Good news! I was able to book delivery through the original shipping company so all is well now.

Really looking forward to getting the car back. Hopefully registering it is straightforward and I can finally just enjoy it for a while! (After I adjust the new parking brake, replace the headlight switch, add headlight relays, etc.)

Hah you've got me there! And my nice carbon-kevlar hood I made will turn into carbon-kevlar bonnet 😂

I am looking forward to having a functioning handbrake though, up until quite recently it's been a lever that goes to nothing

You will also no longer have a trunk but you will have a boot 🙃😉

OK, this is a small world!!!!!!!!!

Banshee, I just learned that your car use to be owned by my good mate's, (Steve Parmley), brother. Steve lives a few minutes from me and i have been friends with him for years and we have traded Zed parts and cars for years.......this is too funny.

Steve Parmley is a good photographer so I'm sure you must have many pics of this car over the years??

Steve just informed me that the original nose that was on Banshee's Zed is sitting on another Zed at his house currently.

@SacCyclone Small world indeed! Steve is a really great guy, I've talked with him a ton about the car and also bought and sold lots of parts with him!

I bought the car in 2015 from the guy who Steve's brother sold it to initially. I was going to go look at a 1st gen Celica and my boss at the time said I needed to find something quicker and he knew a very special Z that he might be able to convince the owner to sell. The car was originally built by Scott Performance in Santa Clara (Greg Scott owns the 3.4L Les-Collins-powered Green Hornet) where my boss used to work.

I went to go look at the car and it had seen some better days, the air dam on the molded front had multiple splits and cracks (And was hit hard enough to crack around the molded headlight buckets), the orange spectrum Recaros were all torn up, rear tires were down to the cords, and rust was bubbling up on the driver's dog leg. I later found out the cam spray bar was clogged with sludge and there was a big ole rust hole on the driver's floor. The worst part was that Magnesium 3-piece Ronals had been SCRAPPED after one of the faces cracked. That part killed me, although I found my Panasports a couple years later and that eased the pain 😂

Anyways I reached out to Steve since he had a bunch of info about the car on his ZlalomZ website and we've been friends since. He's shared loads of pictures with me from back in the day.

I repaired the original molded front end but I knew I wanted a removeable air-dam (And wanted to save some weight as well) so I made the carbon-kevlar front end using it to make the molds. I had a hard time parting with the original front-end but I couldn't reasonably ship it and store it in the UK so I reached out to Steve to still "keep it in the family." He bought my TIG welder as well, and I bought an uber-rare R200 Gleason-Torsen Helical LSD from him!

Long post! Hopefully soon it can look as good as it used to 😂

Thanks for the update and explanation.

The R200 was offered to me a few times and I almost pulled the trigger but really did not have a car to put it in at the time....happy that you got that rare piece.

The Green Hornet is just a legendary Z race car.......

I couldn't pass it up, he said he bought it from someone who purchased from Bob Sharp directly! I still need to actually put it in the car, right now I've got the CLSD so not in a big rush. I also have one 17" Panasport off of the Green Hornet 😂 I only kept the face (both rim halves were bent) and I'm planning to turn it into a spare.

Fired up the Z for the first time today too! Started right up with no hesitation. Let it idle there for a minute to warm up. Moved in 1st and reverse easily too (Last time I let it sit too long the clutch pedal went straight to floor and had to be bled again--I've since replaced clutch master and slave)

Feeling super motivated, I've got some proper bond studs and adhesive coming so I can fix the headlights (Hopefully this weekend)

That's exciting! Glad it made it without any significant issues. Fingers crossed you can get it registered fairly easily!

@Jay. Yes me too! I am feeling hopeful about registration, I need to mount the headlights and air dam and finish unloading it so I can get all the necessary pictures for the dating letter. I figure the more info and legitimacy the easier it will be!

Hey guys, about to run to the Post Office to drop off all the docs for registration! Still have some work to do on the car so figured I'd start a project thread too. Can't wait to hit the road!
