I always ask the god squad how they explain dinosaurs, no offence but they are real and you can touch them in museums more than you can say for god. I love how this thread had descended into a religion debate Lol. Best thread for a while though lets see how far this one will spiral.

Wasn't it God that told Bush and Blair to go and invade Iraq and Afghanastan in the first place causing the deaths of countless thousands. These protests are allowed because there are many difficult questions for this govt to answer, fear needs to be instilled in the nation so the the ongoing operations and soldiers deaths can be justified. All to save face of those in power who knew what they were doing was illegal and to push through new laws, id cards, 4 million plus cctv cameras, they are in too deep now but they can bury the records in the vaults for 100 years .

Apparently dinosaurs are explained in the old testament or something, or previous scriptures, basically there's a bit that says something like
God had a few attempts, and in other places, before he thought "ahh Earth, mankind, that's what I meant"
So I think they covered it. You know in the states you can visit "the creation museum" that explains "biblical history", and shows humans living WITH dinosaurs, had them as pets, it's just like the fricking flintstones! Carbon dating, 60 million years difference etc doesn't matter...
We don't know, but I would hazard a guess that a carnivorous reptile much larger and stronger than man wouldn't make for good pets lol.
When I'm old enough and wise enough I intend to start a "common sense political party", more like the Aus government it seems, don't forget and vote for me!

Nice find for the old dinosaurs and man living in harmony pic. I do love the way the yanks can be very clever in some ways and yet sooo almost archyic in others. Did any one else see the prog on 4 recently about religion and kids, I caught a part where the guy who was being interviewed for having kept all of his kids home schooled said " I keep them at home and teach them the way of our lord everything they will ever need to know is written in here ( bible ). Schools do nothing but fill there heads with useless unfounded! information that cannot be proven, (oh the irony) science for instance (yes he said this) could not be proven in any shape or form, (maybe as a guess science could step in to prove it) Where as everything in the good book is true and all the answers can be found in there and it i the truth and is proven. Now I found a few holes in this, 1 where is he? I know he said he will return but if I have friends around and they say they'll be back I don't expect them to leave it over 2000 years. Thats just rude. 2 if he really could help people as they said why nail him to a cross? even whiches had a trial, he could have made them see sense at least. 3 how can you beleive in an invisible always present bloke with a big beard that never seems to want you to enjoy LIFE? or if you do you will go to hell, as a thing if you do go down the bad route and enjoy life what purpose could satan get from being a prat and torturing you? surely he will say 'welcome pleased you enjoyed your time on earth here are all your mates grab a can and find a space' not HAHAHA you have followed me now pay for it! that just seems like he's work FOR God not against him. Anyway mini rant over lol.

Obviously they agrevate AIDs thats rational sense to a man that by rights (bar the odd choir boy) is still a virgin. The other one that I loved was in '07 when we got the really wet summer and all the flooding the vaticans spokes mans response was it was a message from God as we where too Gay friendly. I never really thought of Yorkshire as a hot bed for gay people? if that was right why did the shore line not receed a few miles in Brighton? I swear they don't think before they make there great and life changing messages.

Another thing. During his visit, two thieves were caught in a market place, they had car tyres placed around their necks, doused with petrol and lit !
There isn't racial tension between blacks and whites but in between ethnic groups (as per elsewhere (Rawandi etc, etc) it's ready to explode !

I thought the idea with the pope was too save and help the poor and spread the good word of the ol' ficticious one, not douse them in four star and michellins. Shows how out of touch the entire thing is then if this is happening to make his visit a nice clean looking one. I bet the people that have lost there houses, bussinesses and stalls don't get free front row tickets for the event either.
It is just mad I wish I could start up a new religion something fun that allowed people to enjoy life and not be such dicks to each other because at the end of the day, religion is at the heart of nearly all human unrest across the world. On the point of the Olympics, why has no one said oooooo credit crunch, recession, avenue for mass rioting, why not say here you go to one of the other countries and plough some of that money back into OUR BLOODY COUNTRY AND ECONOMY instead of men in tight fitting lycra? What will the place serve in the long run? Has London really no where to play sports? I thought it had loads of places including mass open areas free to enjopy nature? I mean the 2012 Olympic symbol has allways looked like a woman giving a man a blow job! (cue everyone clicking on google looking for the logo) And that cost a bomb it looks like a 4 year old did it, and then they will say things like that sodding Millenium dome what the hell was that for? London is not renound for getting winds that blow things to pieces! I really dont know where this country is heading. However I know where I am its sunny so off to get me Z out.

You totally forget that the olympics is going to bring a great deal of wealth (such as tourism) into our country!!!

True it is relatively safe here which is a good thing, I personally don't see how it will recoup the money that it is costing in this economic climate. I see it will generate tourism but should the main thought be for doing what the country needs when things go wrong as well as the long term plan. Its like me thinking I will have more friends over if I build a flamming great pool in the back garden, (just buy the neighbours gardens as well and knock there sheds over to make room first) yes it will but I can't afford it now. So why not think hmm give it a few years bow out gracefully and do it in 2016 (dont quote the vote situation etc) when we have gotten our selves sorted out.
It will be great for the CAPITAL but the overspill won't come out of there however the draft is being felt from it. That is my main gripe with it. I as you all will, love the womens areobics and that is always worthy of an Olypmics but when we are feeling flush not on our arses.

I agree. I know they'll say "But look, we get to build an olympic swimming pool for future athletes etc etc"...
The way I see it is I don't care about swimming, great as it is, so we now have a new economic burden for it's lifetime (these places aren't run for free) of say 30+ years.
Ok ok say we go with it, they should make it fair and build/sponsor race circuits/venues for those who don't care for swimming They can hold international events once a year, unlike the olympics which are once in a lifetime.

Annecy has just won the right here to bif for some future winter games - Grenoble are busy slashing their wrists for losing.....BUT.......it's going to cost Annecy and the region 20+ years of debt but they come out with the (rather staid and over-ripe) comment that it'll put Annecy on the map, create tourism...and install up to date facilities for future athletes ......blah, blah except if they don't win, it'll have cost them millions anyway and countless free, expensive lunches, outings and hotel accomodation for the OG selection comittee !
NOW THAT, is one cushy number, even better than a Euro MP and they were the *unts who chose China which should NEVER have happened !
