Just found a web cam that seems to be working showing the centre of P'boro:

Hmmm, nice!

Cheers,
Rob

Is anyone travelling to JAE from the Bournemouth area as we can not make it due to work and we would likle to get some of the freshly delivered 2008 Z Club Calendars taken to give to Derek (CLUB SHOP) so that he can sell them to all you lovely people..And make the club some money?
PM me if you are and we can arrange a time for meeting up.
Thanks
Michelle and Nick

Just spoken to Fuggles and he tells me that although they had three and a half hours of rain today at the east of england show ground the water has all drained away due to the improved drainage that has been put in over the last year

Yup, we've now got mainly blue skies here now. Weather is supposed to be OK tomorrow, Sunday's hinting at more rain but not as bad as today. Like I'll believe anything a weather forecaster predicts ;)

Cheers,
Rob

The long range weather forecast was totally useless for this weekend.:p I continually viewed it over the preceding week and every day was a different forecast every few hours!:conf2: I decided to miss Friday but went down Saturday and Sunday.

We set up the marquee in reasonable weather on Saturday but the rain soon came.:( However it was on and off, light and heavy and even some sunshine thrown in. For the stalwarts that attended it wasn't too bad overall. Some of the more affluent members stayed in a hotel,;) some went home :) and some really tough people camped out.:D An interesting evening saw us bbq at Torque-Power, wander over to Japgirls and then retreat to our own site to watch the world go by sink a few beers and re-arrange the world. QuickshiftZ explained a new and unusual use for tree grinders which he had discovered in Iraq. Madmarco, (living up to his name) regaled us with tales of hiking in the Rocky Mountains and what to do when a brown bear knocks you out of your hammock. Quite an interesting evening really. The Chunky Chicken seller was still open at 2am, there were brilliant fireworks and fantastic displays of puddle jumping. (they weren't very good at it but it was entertaining).

Sunday was a superb day. A couple of folks lay in at their hotel ;) but the rest of us were up bright and early! A few new arrivals. A small presentastion to Mr Burns for his superb efforts co-ordinating the clubs for The Z parade at Silverstone. Some new people and a couple of old ones revisiting or rejoining.

There were loads of people there and some wonderful cars to look at. not so many trade stands as in the past but some good entertainment and nice to meet old and new friends.

I don't blame anyone for not venturing there this year with the rain as it was but Sundays weather was great, Saturday was passable and you really did miss out if you didn't go.

Perhaps next year?

Nice to see the usual suspects at the Zclub stand

Well done to burnsy for getting the trophy and to Derek and all the others involved for sorting out the stand etc.

See you all at Zedfest

Good to see everyone at JAE. Thanks for the beer Steve and the use of a dry chair Derek on the Saturday night. Enjoyed the chat.
Left JAE at 11.30pm on the Saturday night and got home to Bristol nearly 5 hours later after trying to find a way through to Swindon from Oxford. I nearly did become a boat at one point! All I can say is I slept throught to 1.00 pm in the afternoon on the Sunday. Lets hope JAE next year is a little drier!

I travelled down to JAE on the Friday, and what would normally be a 2.5 hour journey, became a 5.5 hours journey.

I don't think I managed to get over 3rd gear the entire length of the M6. It was very wet.

Was still a great weekend, and Derek did booming pet supplies business on the Saturday when my missus got to the stand.
