JAE new date and venue

So you enjoyed it then
Never went this year
only the 3rd I have missed in all the previous JAEs
but both times I went to Peterborough I hated it

Having been there I'd defaintly be going there again I had a brilliant time don't know what all the fuss was about waiting for the tide. Just required a little forward planning really.

I was not impressed with the fact you weren't supposed to leave the campsite when that wedding reception was coming onto the campsite and I was extremely fed up with the club SXOC who were nothing but rude to the staff and played lound music all night and it carried over to the locals who wheren't too impressed.

I saw zed's and there was plenty to see and do it was just a bit strange knowing where everything was as it was a new site.

Some of us over on the ruby pitch were not impressed with the honda civic club when one of the little chav's decided on the sunday to doughnut on the ruby pitch which didn't belong to the camp site. Lets just say the rest of the people on that field sorted him out and security throw him off there and then. Well done to the JAE security people.

I found the JAE staff extremely polite and very helpfull.

What I did find was that one of the site young male staff was harresing ladies late at night on the saturday. There was an incident I witnessed and had to get involved in. The mersa camp site male staff member was stalking a young girl to the point he followed her into the ladies tolits and stound in the way of the door so she couldn't get away she was in tears poor girl. One girl did explain she wasn't interested and could he please leave her alone. He ignored that and was then trying to touch her. The girls in the loo were geting more and more scared and upset. In the end I had to step in and removed the lad from the girls loo and told the girls to run. I got a resounding round of applause from the ladies trying to use the tolit's while the poor girl and her friend managed to escape back to their camping area without the lad knowing which way they went.

Was not impressed on the sunday by the skyline people who turned up parked up for 4 hours then left leaving nothing but rubbish and glass bottles all over the place. Japgirls cleaned it all up because we thought it was disgusting and we might get blamed for it.

I never found the swimming pool so that just goes to show as a first timer to the site there's still more to find. As the place was all new and strange.

I had a laugh watching the 'It's a knockout' type fun, I missed football but hey footballs not my sceen any way. I enjoyed the fireworks display as always and it was good to see old friends and just relax with all those cars and the sunshine.

Bring on JAE 09 :thumbs::bow::bow:

The loud music wasn't just from the SXOC

The Toyota, (wanna be posh so call it Lexus) club, where to the right of my stand, and the Type R Honda chavs behind us, both with full PA systems trying to outdo each other

We were the first stand on the left in the field that you were at the top of..:) I think this field was a bit out of the way compared to all the others TBH

Oh, and I know where the swimming pool is. :p

The security people were very friendly, and even apologetic if they had to tell you off or give advice. Mersea island own staff were also very friendly and helpful.

All the trouble must have been down at that end of the site, because where 300zx.co.uk was at the other end, there was nothing.

It looks like people need reminding what the place was like.

Hmmm, looks very nice

Would have had to drive home 350 miles from work, drive back down and then home again. Just tooooo far for me.

But there was only one oldskool Z namely Martin in a 260 2+2.

Sounds like it wasn't a nice place to be at then.

We get ruled enough in this country without being ruled by the bloody tide
Bring on JAE 09
NO thanks.

well how's fault was it that only one older zed turned up :(

you guys let the side down dreadfully there. It was a great opportunity for people to see the great 240's, 260's and 280 zeds but you all stayed away:(:(

Eileen unfortunately I can only get away so many weekends in the year and very raely could I get away twice in three weekendss

Also as you know we have always put on ZEDfest in mid September to avoid clashing with JAE that traditionally has always been the 3rd week end of July and this year the date got changed at an extremely late time

I fully understand that perhaps the only Date that the organisers could get for 2008 was the one they had but why have they swung the next two years dates to the same time as they would have plenty of time to get it back to the traditional dates for 2009 and 2010

Zedfest wa about as good as I could have hoped for Steve. I love the Z heritage and it was about as good as it gets for me. I will drive miles to see them but not that many.

Was that what the actual event fields were generally like or was that part of the beech that wasn't part of the show area:confused:

The fields weren't too bad, apart from the grass being freshly cut, meaning it got everywhere and stuck to everything. They obviously don't use a flymo to catch the fresh cuttings.

The show area was quite well kept, and it was really just the beach that sucked.

Alan,

Thank god for your diplomatic approach! Mine would have been more along the lines of:

Go to boot, grab wheel wrench, progressively beat the crap out of the little bastard! Sorry but I cannot STAND wankers like that!!!!!
