The gds and a few others have really short primaries which will move power up the rev range, I can't see them working on anything but a 9000rpm motor where you don't need midrange.
The Fujitsubo comes in two sections: manifold to behind the mid/crossover box, then section that passes under rear suspension to tail pipes. Backbox is not detachable on its own.
Flange thickness is 15mm, bar across bottom appears to be 10mm height. Very substantial compared to the **** one on my old MSA manifold - no leaks, perfect fit. And just for ref, the primaries are 45mm, 1 3/4".
One guy suggesting FGK should contract them out to be made in the US of A so they didn't have get them from Japan. Can't imagine the quality would be comparable....
I had a GDS on my old car and it worked really well from 4500. I rated it but of course unless you try individual components on an engine in a testing environment who knows how it compares.
Thanks and I don't think the USA is worried too much about build quality - pile 'em high and sell 'em cheap !
For info : up on Dave Jarmans' FB journal (8th March) : 1972 Ex-HSCC racer now at The Z Farm, L24 engine producing 225bhp (94/litre) using one of my 1 5/8th race/sport manifolds and systems.
Series 1 - now fixed.I have to admit there was a silencer attachment on the exhaust though lol
It's something I prefer to do whilst fitting on a car......but if you're up to up, I'll add you an extra length of pipe for you to weld yourself - free.
Let me get hold of an owner upon whose car I've already done it - get some photos and measurements. I SHOULD cater for the 2+2 market really.....shouldn't I.
