I know, it's a worrying time for the company and enthusiasts. It'll go one way or the other though. Apparently new blokes intent is to only make 500 cars per model then release a new one. That's going to be pretty ambitious most people will agree and will create a lot of confusing in the market place when buying second hand but will mean that there will be certain models that are considered the ones to have.
Chassis wise, at the moment all there cars, barring the T400/T440/Typhon are based on the same platform and share engine, gearbox, suspension. really it's just down to coachwork and set up that differentiates the models now. I suspect that's how it will remain for the time being.
Engine wise though, well that's another matter. The Speed 6 is a great engine but has been dogged by reliability issues. If the new owner shovels in enough cash to ensure quality control then there's no reason why they shouldn't continue to produce it. It is a big investment though for the company and in many ways it would make more sense to outsource engines. Peter Wheeler was always adamant that there would never be a BMW engine in a TVR that left Blackpool but the new bloke may well have different ideas. It would be a shame though as TVR engines are really a huge part of what makes the cars so special. It's a great shame that the Speed 8 engine has been dropped as it can't meet emmisions levels, that's one seriously insane lump of metal
