    Now for Mr.G and Albrecht...

Today I made the discovery of the chalk under the gloves compartment...here are the photos...

It can be read "HLQ EBAX 3"...don't know what it means but sounds really cool!!!

Is it a way to decode it?

    Great! Well done Mário.

See, there's no letter 'U' in there. That's because the 'U' was reserved for North American market models when combined with the 'L' prefix.

So the main model prefix is 'HL(S30)Q' and the main suffix is 'E' for - it seems logical to deduce - Entreposto.

I'm not sure what the following letters and numbers denote, but they usually meant something on the production line in reference to specification and equipment and/or destination market/port. It's a riddle to be solved.

If you ever get the chance, it would be useful and interesting to see more Portuguese market HLQs and their glovebox base codes to cross-reference.

    Thank you!

    Good photos.

It always amazes me how rusty a good looking car be.

The good news is that you are not fixing someone else's bad repairs - it's original.

    Keep the information coming.

    Hi again!

On the last 3 weeks we have finished the Z…it’s so nice to see the car ready to paint…there are some minor details to solve, but not metal work, only disassemble some parts.

These weeks were hard…every time we thought the car was done another hole and rust appeared, so we decided to clean the metal until the last bit of paint…I’m talking about the floor…damn…completely rusty….now is new…

The engine is in the rebuilding process and I haven’t got pictures…maybe next week…

Meanwhile is just waiting for the paintig day.

Windows, fuel lines and brake lines will be removed within 15 days!

Hope you enjoy the progresso….let’s see the photos!

Good work Mario, yes we always enjoy your stories. The floors on these cars are very prone to rust, I doubt if there are many UK cars with original floors.

    Give Mr Vitorino our congratulations.

You will be so happy when it's painted.

    Hi!

Today I’ll show some up-grades on details and new parts I got installed.

Next week I’ll be on Christmas holidays and then the assembling continue with another rhythm. We have some interior parts, and the rear windows…what a trouble…ahahaha….rubbers and more rubbers…I’m exhausted…ehehehe

    Let’s move on…

New parts on the rear…Mr.Vitorino changing the washers to the new parts.

Then we move into the gas cap…not finished yet…need the cover plated…will arrive soon.

    The vin plate…

Now the interiors…they are the original ones. I decide to use them because they are part of the car and Loved the result…

The center console got the texture too and the result was great!

To finish the day we decided to chenge all the rubbers from the rear quarter glasses…what a hassle…it’s a difficult task!!! Never thought it!!! Extreme detail on the system and then on the application…Mr.Vitorino was tired…but the result was good…

    Hi Mario.

Good work especiallmy the 1/4 light seals - well worth doing.

But....the rear wheel-well vinyl covering is 'saggy', not a tight fit, seems a shame after all the hard work.
