Hello all ! The move to "merge " the two clubs sounds like a grand idea :) Get things up to speed so to speak! Saying that, it sure is good to be back !! Been gone for around 2 years or so, dealing with the big "d" lol. Gotta renew my membership and will be back :) zpuppy aka "that silly Canuck from Harlow "
 
I fully support the move.
The problem with Banter is that some people can take it the wrong way. As long as the merge and additional post doesn't turn into a walking on eggshells and not being able to have an opinion without being moderated club, then it should be great. I think the key to success with this is good moderating and talking to individuals in a calm and collective manner (off thread and either by pm, e-mail or phone call). Deletion of threads as a masking technique causes big problems and individuals take it personally. Communication is key.

I have to admit I have not been on here for a while although I've been paying my subs for a few years. I just realised yesterday that my account had expired so I have resubscribed.

Here's to a nice friendly and community spirit based launch of the joint venture :thumbs:
 
I'm a moderator of the GTIROC and it can be a nightmare dealing with all the different personality's and fragile ego's involved :unsure::rolleyes:.

Mind you I'm not the most caring sharing touchy feely person in the world so I probably don't help matters much :D:lol::lol::lol::lol:.

I hate over moderated forums though, Every body should be entitled to an opinion as long as they don't insult people personally, If you don't agree with them you can either argue your point and change their mind if possible or ignore them altogether ;).

But I'm new to this club so feel free to just ignore me all together :lol::rofl:.

As do I fella :cheers:.

But don't you find having to walk on egg shells all the time very wearing because a lot of the youngsters just can't take a bit of banter, It is very difficult for some people to get the gist of some peoples comments on forums though, It's very easy to get the wrong end of the stick when reading some replies :unsure:.

And not to leave the old codgers out as well some of them need to grow a sense of humour as well :unsure:, Life's far to short to get upset by a few dodgy comments on the interweb :rolleyes::D.

If someone or something REALLY winds you up - the trick is not to react immediately but to walk away and reply later....that also gives one the opportunity to see other peoples' replies in the meantime.....now is it just for fifteen minutes sir or the full half hour ?
 
I must be lucky, have only ever deleted jokes which werent funny or were crude. Very few flying handbags too. And the walk away system is very good, normally by the time you get back it all over and everyone is friends again.
