Good stuff! It’s a cool project car that one. Nice enough for incremental improvement while enjoying it. If I wasn’t doing my 240Z project, that could’ve really tempted me.
Plus, you buying it gives me a little more room in the barn for a while (depending on what Chris has incoming)! Not that there’s much left to do on Dixie before she’s ready for dipping and metalwork...
You have even more room to work on Dixie at the moment as my white 240Z in that barn has gone off to have the gearbox rebuilt. Bought second or third hand from a European forum member on here. Allegedly one of those expensive fully reconditioned 5 speed units sold on US eBay by company in CA. but never used or fitted
The casing looked nice and shiny anyway
Lasted all of 100 miles until lost gears 3/4/5 and reverse.
To add to the misery, mice have taken a liking to the ITG foam air filters and chomped their way through both before deciding to take refuge from the cold weather inside the car. Teeth marks on the seats but not too much damage, just a horrible smell of mice wee and a few poops to clean up. Suffice to say poison and traps have now been employed with a vengeance and doubt there are any mice within a 100 metre radius now
Enjoy the 280Z Jake, a great buy
Look forward to following it's progress with interest.
ps. UKFB66 Bumpers with fittings on the car weigh in at about 35kg the pair ! Have taken plenty of them off and still lying around as can't bring myself to bin them. Worth money in the States but can't imagine much of a demand here.....
