Looks good.

Sort the picture out though, the different sizes keeps moving the text around and my eyes can't keep up. Another sign of me getting old :(

Originally (2003) I had a TWM unit however the build quality was unacceptable (glass matt to thin, clips pop rivetted on) so the concept was taken, modified and improved (strength and fit) odd really as the TWM unit is very similar to units from Japanese tuners however the build quality seems to have changed in its journey;).

Anyway I then couldnt continue to supply them (busy with other things) so Mike (MJP) took over the project
The unit is fitted to a number of cars in the UK and a couple in Europe.

Mr F,

Looks like the link is no longer working:
http://www.mjpshop.co.uk/product_info.php?id=113&pid=437

Are these cold air boxes still available? How do they differ from the 6 cylinder TWM box here:
TWM-Air Filters-TWM Air Box

All,

I'd like a Carbon Fibre one if I can find one. Any second hand available?

Garrett

I too am an approved seller of this product.
Here are a couple of pics in case the link isnt working.
Box is constuucted of black fibreglass with an outer woven surface exactly as in the pics giving it that motorsport look.
If you were to shoot some clear lacquer over this it would give a look something like CF.
I have a slight second(one minor air bubble on the underside) priced at £135. I can get a shipping price if you or anyone else is interested.

This was made by a different moulder/laminator in the days before Mr F came on board .

im liking that custom powder coated rocker cover a lot. Graphite grey is the new silver I think;)

Yeah, I'm interested - though I'd really prefer a carbon one if I can find one.

Skiddel, I have been trying to reach you over the last few weeks about these boxes. Sent you some PM's via Hybridz.org... I see you are too busy with other things... Any chance you (or pmac) can help me track down one of the Carbon fiber versions - second hand would be fine. Looking at the pics in your gallery, the construction on them looks top notch.

I'd be willing to pay 255 pounds for a nice carbon fiber box. That said, I need to verify it will fit before I have it shipped over the Atlantic ocean. I just need to make sure it will clear the brake master cylinder before ordering one. :)

I'm running a Cannon intake manifold and 44 Mikuni phh side drafts... Is it known to work with left had drive (sorry!) cars with the brake master cylinder in near proximity? If that is not known, I can take a couple of measurements to verify fit. I just need to know what the hight is at the front and back of the box. pmac, is the base plate for the fiberglass second cut for Mikunis, or do I need to do that myself?

Thrilled to be this close to getting one of these!

Thanks,

Garrett

My Cannon intake manifold is a little under 5.5 inches (about 137 mm). Mounted on the cylinder head, I measure about 9.25 inches (234 mm) from the carb/manifold mounting surface to the brake master cylinder bleed screws (which are the first obstruction) though they are about in plane with the bottom of the carb bores. From the face of the carbs to the same bleed screws, I measure about 3.75 inches (95 mm). Again, the bleed screws are down low, so maybe the curvature of the box does not interfere with them?

Went looking for pics of Sylvain's carb car and couldn't find any that showed Mikuni's and the air box fitted.

They are S4 in fact in 44mm

manifold is "Excel" about 120mmm
carbs about 120mmm

Clearances :
at 280zx brake bottle : about 20mm
at suspension tower : about 20mm

From the face of the carbs to the same bleed screws, I measure about 125 mm

Here are pics (sorry the car is dirty)

hope that helps

Wow. Thanks for doing all of that Sylvain. I am running thicker carb isolators (rubber) I think. And your manifold does look a bit shorter.

I really appreciate you taking a look for me.

Can you measure the height of the air box at the back carb - from the carb face (which is where the back of air box base plate mounts) to the outside edge of the air box cover? The other dimensions are helpful, but knowing the width of the box itself at this point would really tell me what I need to know.

I think that should do it. Might have to modify the box... or get a different intake manifold.

hi

my insulators are also soft "rubber"; they are 9mm ones from Rebello

here are the measures you asked for... but they are not accurate

width : about 10mm
height : about 14mm
