At least we are still in the world cup.

Until Sunday ? have no interest in football so there are no silly flags on my vehicles

Sean you will have to add abit of weight with chrome or ss bumpers then

Also you did not reply about the wheels ! I personally think a black wheel needs breaking up with a silver rim.

What do you want me to say ? This was my original idea.......

Graphite wheels look ok in all one colour, guess its not the same with black because they blend in with the tyre. Why are we making all this fuss its only for the school run anyway  other parents will be drooling over the Z & ignoring the Panamera's :D

OK

Black wasn't my choice for the wheels - I wanted dark gunmetal to differentiate between the wheels and tyres or simply shiny greyish, silver rims would work well too.

The car will be weighed Monday so you'll know.

I don't care a f about football, never have done - I hope Tasmania win.

Arches finish off a 2+2 because it is long and thin and arches fatten it out, make it squarer like a 240Z.

I've been looking at the rear (without the spoiler) of the 260 :

105cm wide as per the 240, 103 high compared to108 of the 240, 31cms between bottom glass and hatch lip and 29cms for the 240.

It still gives the impression that the 260 is longer, that it pans out towards the rear lights whereas the 240 stops dead. I guess haing a rear spoiler removes that impression - make it shorted which combined with arches, changes the overall impression.

Only when the weather is nice ! But don't confuse the underworked civil-service and monopolied nationalised companies with private industry !

True - we only appreciate the car when inside it - what's outside is for others and their perception.

i have a soft spot the for 2+2 as i had one as my first datsun and i really liked the look apart from the sweep of the rear 1/4 window,i wounder what a 2+2 would look like with the 240Z rear 1/4 window.
nice car sean but i must admit i prefer Jays with the arches and wheels

I wouldn't mind my 240Z with opening rear 1/4 lights.....but what counts on this car is the execution not if she has tasty wheels or not and I bet that she's the only one with power-steering together with all the other goodies !

Some photos of the before and during.

Sean

The car looks very good for a 2+2, full marks for the execution;).

However, what suprises me is that in recent threads including the celica TA22 one, you have continously stated that the "jdm" styling influence is a temporary look and it will be obsolete in a few years time, just like the rover V8's and XR3i mirrors etc...

So I am somewhat suprised that you have planted plastic fender mirrors , painted some minilite wheels "anthracite", so that they pass off as Watanabes and gone for the very jdm styling look that is about to go out of fashion..??

Change of heart?:eek::lol:

No my friend - car is destined for another who has other tastes - I'd have gone for simple chromed door mirrors and alloy-look wheels to set off the orange differently.

Madame is currently running it in in exactly that role - how perceptive you are. The fact that she drives an extra 15 miles and finds the need to get up to 5000revs is purely coincindental.

Well, she weighs 1275kgs and is finished - see her at Le Mans Classic.

We've changed the oil and filter, added an extra electic fan, advanced the timing and enriched the mixture and NOW she really flies........and we haven't taken it above 5800 yet......... my man Martin !

Alloys wheels, no spare and fibre-glass bumpers but the interior is complete - amp, speakers, sound-proofing, carpets.....power-steering !
