From the ad: "I bought this car with a view to restoring it but other projects have taken priority"

Not sure I 100% believe this - it looks like these pics have been taken when it's been delivered from wherever it came from - the trailer is in some of the pics ... !

The add says, "Please don't insult me with silly offers."

I wonder if he purchased it with a silly insulting offer? Or does silly insulting offers only work one way?

Wow...at this rate anyone with a ropy RHD Z, may as well park it outside and make some room in the garage.

Maybe I need to put 4BOA back together if RHD UK cars are going for this much. I had always considered it to be a £2*k car but maybe it could be in the £30k's.

To me this is madness but then supply and demand kicks in. How many UK cars come up for sale each year? Then look at how much LHD cars go for on BAT.

Restored LHD cars in Europe look to be selling at around the 40k euro (35k ish GBP) mark, if you go by the drop in the amount of said cars being available on the likes of mobile.de.
So I would imagine your 4BOA could easily be worth in the £30k's, especially when you see prices of some of the 'restored' RHD cars that turn up for sale in the UK.

the half decent ones that have been properly done at £45-55k there.

I thought that one was done as you had pictures of it on the road in France or similar?

I hope the new owner has great welding and mechanical skills otherwise that's going to be an expensive restoration at 23k for the base.

These cars fetch a lot of money. We should be happy.

I looked online at a lovely local Volvo V90 Cross Country T6 (310bhp). 2018 30k miles.

About the same price!

Why expensive ? How are you qualifying its' value please - I'm confused.

Do you mean what it'll be worth once finished compared to what it'll cost to get there ?

Well I think Rob got the closest guess so well done fella!

So £23k for the car, a 20k resto - sounds about right for the £50k+ finished prices quoted.
