240Z blanche £23k

Way different price of course and if it was my choice, I'd go for the white L28 one with a decent box and suspension as it's more a driver's car than a wrap-up and store for later !

Well your statement was the "best one" with no caveats or conditions which is why I believe they have been better ones..had you said best one -price wise or drive ability then I would tend to agree. Hence why I commented that's it was a "bald statement! "..

We all agree it's a cracking car and deal. Is it a secret who carried out the restoration? It would certainly enhance the appeal not that this car needs any such aids.

Are you saying that that orange one (with a 4spd ? OEM) is 'better' ? I guess you've been in those doldrum saloons too long to realise that 5 is alive.....:p

Work it out mate and who fixed up that pick-up on ebay ?

C'mon, you live over there not me.:smash:

......and automatic ! There's always a catch - have you ever driven with a 200SX box ?;)
Nope. I don't think I ever will if it means I can't get the centre console to fit snugly on the transmission tunnel.
I paid for the full half hour by the way.

Right, let's have our money's worth then.....

I invite you to come and measure each side of my console at LMClassic where I'll supply the chilled Champagne whether you find it to be **** or sublime.

It's a possibility, yes, certainly want to drive to Europe next year. Would ideally like to drive down to the Algarve but that's maybe pushing it a bit. I'll see how it goes re holidays, money and getting work done on the Z.

What work ? I thought that it was running ?
I don't know what your definition of 'running' means, but to me it's just marginally better than 'not running'. I'd like to think my car is a bit better than that,15000 miles in two years without major problems and it looks OK.
I don't anticipate a time when I wont have any work to do on the car, there will always be something to be done to make it better. I am sure you can imagine the sort of work that would be required to try and ensure a trouble free journey of 1000's of miles.

Err, 15000 in two years surely implies excellent maintenance which should stand the car in good stead for a trip over here.

In my defintion, work is work* and reguler routine maintenance is just that and nothing more.

*as in redoing the suspension, welding up the passanger floor, stripping the engine....

It's a nice car that is looks like it's worth the asking price, lhd don't matter Sean baby but not much of a market for em over here as been proved by the many that are still for sale,as good as they are, white really suits,it's the same argument,if a good left hooker is going for that sort of dosh what must those that have equally or better Zeds in rhd form be worth as there is a market for em here, being England, and are there people willing to spend thousands on a Zed,not many

Funnily enough most of the stuff would probably lie somewhere in between your two categories. I wont be welding any floors, but I might tidy up a couple of bit's of bodywork , brakes are maintained but might rebuild them, might fiddle with the carbs but won't be stripping the engine, might change some suspension bushes probably won't entirely rebuild it, might fling some POR15 and Dinitrol at it won't be stripping it all back to bare metal, might tidy up the electrics won't be replacing the loom.

They are in my book or our definitions of 'lowering' are different....

So you're saying you'd need to roll the arches when fitting 15x8 et0 rims and 205/50/15 tyres on a similarly lowered Z as in the advert? from experience I would say that this isn't 'necessary'

Well, mine were rolled before with 225/50x15s, so perhaps not necessary on 205s BUT every tyre make and model flank shape is different - it's over-simplified to merely quote the manufacturer's tyre dimensions.

The car we are talking about is running 225 tyres and yes they will rub if the arch isn't rolled. The only way to check is to remove the coil spring and move the suspension through its full travel. The lip on a factory arched car is about an inch wide and also points down as it goes into the car. Running a 205 tire will help but from what I understand, it can still rub with maximum strut compression. Your better off rolling the arches before painting the car to be on the safe side. On a UK car that's probably had replacement arches its a bit of a lottery.
