As I posted earlier if I hadn't got mine then I would definately have a look at this one, I'm no mechanic or bodywork guy so a car that's already done is what I'd look for where possible, that said mines booked in for an engine out repaint next March, I really admire you guys who can turn your hands to and enjoy the work a restoration/ rebuild takes, unfortunately that's not me, I'm a cleaner :) as for the price, I don't think it's bad tbh, a little room for negotiation no doubt, you pays your money you make the choice :driving::thumbs:

A Tranny's tunnel is somewhere you'll never find me.

Edited to add, that personally I think the rear shock towers are more hassle to get looking right in terms of applying the vinyl. The tunnel just requires patience and care to have been taken with the underlay/insulation. When I did mine, I used some that I acquired off eBay that was possibly thicker than the original, which ensured a nice shaping and a smooth surface. No saggy-ness in my tunnel I'm glad to say...

Hi All,

As an owner of a LHD and having "refreshed" the car over the past year, it's an interesting exercise reading your opinions on values / costs etc.

With a professional glass out re-spray and attention to some minor rust, 4 pot front brake upgrade with vented disks, new headlights, a few electrical issues sorted, new wheels and tyres, major service, suspension re-bush, electric ignition, tidy up of the interior (door seals and some chrome) and door fittings and some parts replaced eg CV joints, I'm nearly up to the asking price of the car in question.

So that's just shy of £10k expenditure on top of the £12.4k purchase price. If I replaced the exhaust, fitted a manual box, similar rad, new diff and upgraded the standard engine, I'd be well over the asking price of this subject white 240.

The flip side is I know I have a good solid 240z that took me on a fairly tough Scottish road trip in September with no trouble at all. But that doesn't stop me from pondering a potential "upgrade"...

Sean, as I said it was a great car priced to sell therefore I agree with you but a 'smart Alec' is not popular..

I'll bite. Well done to the seller and congratulations to the buyer.
What I found most amusing and kept me posting was the 'batten down the hatches, pull up the drawbridge, full on defensive mode' as soon as someone pointed out a couple of minor faults. A simple reply along the lines of 'yes the tunnel needs retrimmed and the console needs fitting properly, surprised that photo was included' would have sufficed.
Z' always look nice in white and it'll be easy to blend in the paint chip on the inspection hatch.

I was going to add the paint chip bit earlier but didn't bother, since it was all getting a bit tetchy. However at the risk of repeating myself I'll repeat myself, what I find most amusing and keeps me posting is the 'batten down the hatches, pull up the drawbridge, full on defensive mode' as soon as couple of minor faults are pointed out.
