I was learning to speak English in ‘84 - had to do it in two months to be allowed to go to school. Still learning - mainly from Sean

Bloody cones on the M25 even during lockdown!
Passed my test in Feb 84 so I remember roads like that very well. On a couple of essential journeys this week I loved the quiet roads.
Unless it was a Bond Bug!I wouldn't have admitted to that....

I've never been bothered about Street Cred or fashion. Also bear in mind that I was 16 and my mates were on little motorbikes or scooters. I worked at a motorbike shop at weekends and at that time lots of lads were getting killed on bikes. I had a Triumph Cub and the boss of the shop offered me a 250 Ducati but Dad wasn't keen and encouraged me along the car route.
I brush painted it too.
My first bike was a 1966 Honda C90 with a big end problem. EFL 11D. I learnt a lot from that bike even though it never turned a wheel under its own power while in my ownership.
Passed my test in 1980 in the forces so was driving big stuff for work.. At that time I could only afford one of these to do the weekly commute A34/A4 from Portsmouth to Swindon. There was never enough traffic to feel unsafe! Thing that scared me most of all was tyres slipping when you cranked it over in the corners.

Not surprising with tyre pressures that low
In '76 I was commuting to Fleetwood from Blackpool on an Honda SS90. Upmarket version of the C90.
That so looks like someone is trying to milk your udder
I upgraded to a CD 175 and felt even less safe! Then went to an RD250, popped a wheelie when I missed second and life changed forever.
