This was my verdict last night after yesterday's exploration, a few additions that I've remembered today in red; photos to follow.
Good bits:
Interior is all there and in excellent condition. Nothing missing that I could see. All vinyl trim in good condition, as well as under mats.
Engine runs and sounds good (didn't do a compression or leak down test as I figure I'll refresh it anyway)
All the electrics and gauges work including the clock, lights etc
Suspension and brakes (other than the hydraulics and lines etc) refurbished.
Floor pans, inner sills in great condition
Bulkhead, front wheel arches in good condition
Both "A" and "B" pillars good
Roof good
Wolfrace wheels in good condition with brand new tyres - (in 1991 I think ) , but they are massive!
Lots of stone chip applied at some time in the past which I genuinely believe has saved the car
New exhaust
Bad bits:
Rear wheel arches totally shot (have new outer arches to fit) Need to research on whats available for the inner rear arches - just the section outboard of the seams
Outer sills shot (have new sills to fit)
Outer doglegs shot and probably the inners too - just how much to be confirmed
Some localized holes in the front chassis rails, where there are triple layers are - hopefully repairable!
External paintwork/body - looks in a very sad condition with lots of rust 'bubbles' - however, I've scrapped a few away with my finger nails and it is only surface rust; certainly not rusting from the inside out.
Passenger side lower front wing section behind the wheel totally shot - and probably the inner section as well
Passenger door outer skin has some rusted holes at the bottom - probably repairable.
Clutch and Brakes not working
Unknown:
Front Air dams - they look good from what I can see, but until I get the wings off I won't know! Fingers crossed.
Condition of gearbox and Diff
Also found a neat key holder which I will be refurbishing
