    Blimey. They're still out there! If I'm honest, from that excellent set of pics and what seems like an honest seller, what you see is what you're going to get and with the scarcity of these around, is that about the right money? You want a RHD original UK car, this is what you're going to have to pay - and why not. What you spend in purchase price against a complete basket case, you may save in eventual resto costs.

    If this has been garaged since 1981, then it might be not as quite as crusty as others I've seen (still 9-10 British winters though).

    That looks a good project for someone ad be buying it straight away if I had the spare cash well worth it

    Yep, from a quick look that's at least a £15k car. No risk there in my opinion!

    One assumes that the doglegs, floorpans, inner sills will also 'definitely' need replacing along with the rear arches and outer sills?

    Went to see this and bought it!

    Good bits:

    Interior is all there and in excellent condition. Nothing missing that I could see.
    Engine runs and sounds good (didn't do a compression or leak down test as I figure I'll refresh it anyway)
    All the electrics and gauges work including the clock, lights etc
    Suspension and brakes (other than the hydraulics and lines etc) refurbished.
    Floor pans, inner sills in great condition
    Bulkhead, front wheel arches in good condition
    Both "A" and "B" pillars good
    Roof good

    Bad bits:

    Rear wheel arches totally shot (have new outer arches to fit) Need to research on whats available for the inner rear arches - just the section outboard of the seams
    Outer sills shot (have new sills to fit)
    Outer doglegs shot and probably the inners too - just how much to be confirmed
    Some localized holes in the front chassis rails, where there are triple layers are - hopefully repairable!
    External paintwork/body - looks in a very sad condition with lots of rust 'bubbles' - however, I've scrapped a few away with my finger nails and it is only surface rust; certainly not rusting from the inside out.
    Passenger side lower front wing section behind the wheel totally shot - and probably the inner section as well
    Passenger door outer skin has some rusted holes at the bottom - probably repairable.

    Unknown:

    Front Air dams - they look good from what I can see, but until I get the wings off I won't know! Fingers crossed.

    Anyway, I'll start a new thread and get some pictures up.......

    Might be better and cheaper to import some doors from the states rather than repair or re-skin,I done that with one of my doors many years ago and it’s still good now

    Thanks, I shall look at all options when the time comes! Ball park figure, how much did it cost you for the doors, and more importantly, how much for the shipping and taxes please? Will have a big bearing on which way to go!

    You'd be better off getting Saccyclone to put the doors in a car he sends over (he will at some point).

    Thanks Mike,

    Will certainly look at that option - but I'm not sure if that will be necessary . I think my door can be repaired quite easily. I've started a new thread in Rebuilds and Restorations, so please take a look and see what you think. I'm open to all options and opinions at this stage :)
