What's happening next ?

i agree with hugh, well put, keep it free, put fees up,£35 aint a lot by these days standards, works out to about 15 pints of lager and 3 bags of crisps, and you only piss it out the other end anyway

Only 19 people seem bothered enough to relaise that something needs to be done soon if the club wants to maintain what it does at the moment

It seems on par with the apathy that seems to rule with a lot of z club members that we have 90 plus people who view the site each day and 70 of them don't want to post up thier views or any suggestions that may help to take the club forward

come on you people out there we need imput now so it can be colated and put in place now

if you care about the club and this site please put some imput in how to keep it as a the top z club in the country

Hi,
Although I like receiving the club magazine each quarter, I would be happy to download it and print off some copies if necessary!.. And I don't think there are enough articles to sustain it over 4 glossy copies at the moment!...Without the US input too, it would be quite thin!
The Web site could do with more regular promotion in the magazine to try and entice some of the sedentary members into becoming more active!. Perhaps some of the annual car awards could be made exclusively through the forum?
We have the advantage of a great magazine and local group meetings (when people turn up!) as well as an expanding forum!...Some internet based "clubs", although initially active may have trouble maintaining interest over time.
I think that new 350Z owners will naturally want their own forum, perhaps not associated with 'old Datsuns ', but it's the second or third owners looking for a more "classic" style club, who we are more likely to attract.
The Z32 is still going through the bargain "boy racer" phase to a certain extent and it remains to be seen how popular they are in a few years time and we must be sure to attract some of the long term owners. It's nice to see the Z31 starting to be appreciated on the forum, though!

Well steve, russ has given me a little job and hopefully you will be getting lots of emails shortly :D

My personal view as a ordinary member and not as a committee member

HE IS SHOUTING AT US AGAIN
YES I BLOODY AM THIS IS NOT AIMED AT THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE REPLIED TO THIS THREAD ALREADY

IT IS AIMED AT THE SILENT PAID UP CLUB MEMBERS WHO HAVE VISITED THIS THREAD IN THE LAST 36 HOURS AND HAVE JUST CARRIED ON LURKING

YOU MUST HAVE SOME IDEAS ON WHAT DIRECTION THE CLUB SHOULD TAKE OR DON'T YOU BLOODY CARE

Don't be shy all views are welcome and you will not get shouted at for you ideas

WHIST I AM HAVING A SHOUT MIGHT AS WELL HAVE A GO AT NON PAYED UP USERS OF THIS SITE ALL I CAN SAY IS I HOPE THE YOU ARE USING THE PITTANCE YOU HAVE SAVED IN NOT JOINING UP TO GOOD USE as you seem to need it

I hope you enjoy this site paid for by the paid up membership of the Z Club in the interest of freeloaders

If you don't like the comments pay up or go somewhere else

(this is not aimed at any overseas visitors just freeloaders in this country)

--- was winters ?????

Key articles are not a problem I have enough for some time -- and then some -- they just dont always jump out at you and require a little ground work which I am happy to do

The problem I and any other editor have is a lack of

Local group reports
News views
Letters to editor

All I will say is stop worrying about the mag and lets deal with the BIGGER picture folks

SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES

Hi,
Your latest Winter magazine was very good, but this hasn't always been the case in the past....before you became Editor!

I second what Steve Burns has JUST SAID. Furthermore I also agree with The Editor,I thought the Winter mag, (his first), was top class and he has clearly indicated on this thread that he has his finger on the pulse. let's leave the mag alone and concentrate on supporting the club by attending events and coming up with suggestions that will put us on a firmer footing for the future.

Such as??

Either lock down the Forum as a paid-up 'Z Club' members-only facility like the club mag, or open it up for all without any cat-calling from offstage. You can't have it as a bit of both. It doesn't work.

Or as has been suggested, still have an open forum and additional Z Club members only sections.

How convenient.

I take it that, as you have forum editing powers, you are one of "the team"?

Maybe you would like to continue with what you were going to quote from my now deleted post? If you can remember what it was, that is.

SYMPTOMS AND CAUSES
Symptom - membership is falling, worries about whether we can continue producing our excellent magazine.

Causes - Lack of cars, 2 other clubs getting all the Z32 & Z33 owners.

Solution - Increase membership fee to address the short fall.

If you click on the "FORUM" tab at the top of the screen, then scroll down to "WHAT'S GOING ON", to the right of "MARK FORUMS READ" you can click and "VIEW FORUM LEADERS" - then you see who else forms "the team".

I think we could put up the Membership Fee to help the Mag,I have no problem with that, but it will in turn have to have an extra Part in it Eg, Bigger Readers rides section, Competition section so that members will want it maybe a Free poster / T shirt/ this years best cars, only ideas, but if these included Z31's and Z32's and the new 350 in these section maybe we can drag back those members, as Albrecht said in his deleted post and as I've said before maybe a Donation Tab so that members can give a small amout if they feel they want to and help out our Club, some sites do this and I think this may help us.
I also feel that this section as we are discussing the clubs finacial position should be members only but, the site should not be locked down completely so that potential members can access gallery and post question's to ourselves and view most areas but not post in them all, you never know we might want that spare R200 4.11:1 diff that Joe Bloggs has had in his garage for ages and only wants a tenner for.

Nick.

re; donation tab, yes a good idea i would be willing to donate but will it help in the long run? not sure if thats the cure but it would help... maybe one of "da boys" could post an addy and ill post a cheque!!!!:D

Hi,
I've re-inserted what was left of your post...not much unfortunately... and I did agree with much of what you said before...Perhaps you could repost a summary?

Maybe some of the lack of response to this thread is because it is under "Web Specific"? I do not usually look there as it has, in the past, mostly dealt with website problems etc. If you want a general discussion make it "General"!
