oh dear suzy another one

I would love to get involved and help this club go forward. NO JOKE. I have always had a lot of time for you and Suzy and I think you both know that?

More than happy to have you on board, can't find your mobile number, drop me a line and I'll give you a call in the next day or two and we can have a chat

Hey - every cloud has a silver lining (even if it is a storm cloud!) - we could get a new committee member out of this:D :D :D

I'm off line till Wednesday but will be in touch

I appologise for calling anyone a liar. I do not appologise for putting my case across but I was wrong to say that anyone was lying and I do truely regret that statement. It looked like it but now I see it wasnt the case.
i hope this is acceptable by those affected?

Vince.

I only replied on this thread as someone was accusing the ZClub committee of lying (can't remember who and TBH it doesn't really matter). I just wanted to put my side of the story for all to read.
Yes, we are still friends mate. we've had enough falling out for the time being LOL.
The post I put up certainly wasn't aimed at you personally. It was directed at all members who were having a go about the cancellation and the way in which it was handled.

However, we do need to move on.

Cheers
Steve

I am NOT a commitee member...but I have the same passion & love of this club, that Suzy,Derek,& all the other committee members possess.
Also...... PMAC is a lovely lad. & we should all have a party

Why not have the birthday bash at the JAE?

Was thinking about that, worried though as last time I went there were far to many twats screaming round in their cars out of control. I wanted an event where I could take the kids camping and have a bit of fun, im just not sure thats the place to do it. Not to mention the serious lack of cleaning in the toilets and waste clearance that went on.

we wanted the birthday bash to be a special event and had planned to put on lots of extra things, it is too short a notice to re-arrange everthing for JAE
BUT the Z Club will be at JAE and hope as many of you as poss can make it.

Plans for the birthday bash are under way and we will keep you posted as soon as we have a confirmed date

Organise another Z Club only (other Z and ZX clubs too of course) birthday bash properly - it doesn't even matter if it's next year - it's only numbers !

The organisation that goes into this (from people who aren't pros) is enormous and VERY time-consuming. I know what they must feel having cancelled the event - all my praise for everyone involved and sympathy for having been let down by the weather.

I've heard on the grapevine that several international members were grateful at having been told erly enough to reclaim their travel arrangements and are looking forward to another event.

Time to move on guys and gals (that includes you too pmac).

BTW, I'm organising a nice little Z jaunt in the middle of France next July - plenty of sun garanteed......!

Well its been dry , sunny and windy here in the East Midlands for two days and the forecast for the week ahead gives some dry days and some with light showers(BBC Weather-Northampton.) So was the decision to cancel Billing premature???
Come to think on it ... WHO actually made the decision????
Over on 300Zx.co.uk it was stated that The Site owners had contacted the Clubs, but i have just been informed by Steve300Zx Membership sec that he actually got the information from Z Club.
So... what happened??? Did Billing management contact the Z Club and cancel??
Or did a club official contact Billing Office and enquire??
Or did someone just tell someone else who's auntie was walking the dog that it was raining heavy and promptly cancel the whole idea.
Im having someone check it out tomorrow anyway so I will be back with an up to date factual report on the state of the Meadows.

I read this post last night at 10.41 last night and decided to bite the bullet and wait untill I had calmed down a bit after reading the insulting section which seems to be aimed at my friend who lives in a mobile home at Billing

I know for sure that I will never ask any of my friends to do any thing for this club again if this is how they are thought of a certain club member

In reply to the rest of the post
After traveling for an hour and a half to the Matching Green car show in Essex on Sunday the first of July and on arriving there found a notice on a board by the entrance saying the Show was cancelled due to waterlogged grounds I phoned Derek and asked him if he had heard any thing from Billing and as he hadn't, as he has explained on another post in this thread

As he knew I knew someone who lived at Billing he asked if I could contact her and ask her to have alook at the state of the fields and report back which she did and on this report that and looking at the long range weather forecast for Northampton at the time we contacted
Suzy and Chris and told them of the report and after a lot of exchanged phonecalls and in view of the state of some of the cars at the 1997 Jae at Billing it was decided that we would pull the plug on the show to attempt to give as much notice as possible to people that the show was cancelled

most of the other items in the opening post have been answered by others re who contacted who etc

And for those of you who didn't go to the 1997 show here a couple of pictures of it

I know it isn't a Zed but sone of them were as bad as this and I am sure you would all be pleased to give your cars a mud pack

This was after a couple of days of heavy rain but nowhere near enough to get the grounds under water

Hi,
Just been looking at the Vauxhall owners site, as they have just held their annual meeting at Billing this weekend and from the photos, it doesn't seem too bad on the whole, although they obviously have more fields to choose from!.....

A nice lady from the VBOA posted on 300zx and she said
Have been to the VBOA rally at Billing this weekend, when we arrived there were several 'ponds' all over the place. Most displays and autojumble were moved and the show arena display was cancelled. The weather was lovely and warm both Sat and Sun so this had dried the ground greatly.
More rain forecast by Met Office Thurs, Fri. Crystal Balls, anyone? :D

Stop your effing bitching about who's fault it was or not, was it a good decision or not etc, etc....

THE decision was taken, it seemed the right one at the time and that's how it happened - 'ed' - passed, gone - move on !

Disappointed - yes ! Lost money - yes ! Wasted time - yes !

Assume it all like the big people you are and tell yourselves that the next one will be better, you'll be better organised yourselves, maybe even looked at the weather and asked the question yourselves before waiting for someone else to carry the dreaded message and get shot down !

Just to put things staraight here.
I did not start this thread. I simply got involved because Pete asked me to.

So your a sheep and not a shepherd then???

Sorry Vini, no offence, but woudl you put your hand in the fire because PMAC thought it was a good thing???

And PMAC, why DID you start this thread??

IMO, if you have a problem with the management/commitee of a club, you should take that up privately and not do it publicly, as this way you have just made yourself, and Vini, look like cocks.

I'm guessing none of you have been in touch with Billing lately, but due to health and safety reasons, this event has been cancelled, by staff at billing.

Now, PMAC, Vini, would you like to be the ones that are telling everyone today, perhaps people that are already on ferries or planes, on the way over, that this is now cancelled and they may as well turn around and bugger off home again??????

IMO, the committee made the right decision, and the only decision that they could given the situation that they were in at the time.

I see this thread as simply an opportunity to slag people off for no reason other than spoiling your fun, for which you may or may not have spent time and money organising or preparing for.

I for one, took a whole week, and spent loads of money, getting one of my other cars ready for this weekend, but do I feel bitter??? NO.

Shit happens, get over it.

The right decision was made. and if you can't accept that, at least have the decency to shut the hell up.

To those that supported the decision, thank you.

Suzy, you may as well put me down for committee, as I have no problem with getting things cancelled or putting my point across a straight forward as it is.

Grow up people, and think of others and not just yourselves.

Jeez.

And breathe.....

Hi,
As members, everyone is entitled to put their point of view forward and ask questions of the committee on this forum....As long as it is done in a calm and civil way!
