Drag Challenge Round 8 - JapShow Santa Pod

One could argue then Steve that despite the boast of being a Road legal it is so finely tuned and temperamental that its practically undrivable as a normal road car?

Funny that, the 5000+ miles I have done this year seemed to go by without incident, oh wait a minute, they were without incident, not bad considering that it has nearly 300 HP, plus several expert passengers (not Monday morning experts on a forum) would say you really need to get out more.

I didnt go today as my Wife starts her new job this week and will be away from home for several days, my son had a football match and my daughter is about to move home, I have spent several weeks doing other car stuff at the weekends so before my wife leaves me I thought it advisable to spend some time with the family

Sorry do I need a letter from my mom as well:p

Participation in the Drag Challenge - which is not all about going quicker as you know, having been instrumental in writing the rules.

Getting out of the house to see your mates more often...

Enjoying the drive...

Being There...

Currently I need to be at home, strangely my family comes first:eek:

Another great weekend of getting out in the Z and general socializing. As is usually the case, the weather forcast got it totally wrong and we enjoyed 2 generally sunny day with bief occational shower. I only managed to get 10 runs in but I'll try better next time! Had my usual problems off the line and failed to get the sort of times I was aiming for but good to get out none the less. Thanks again to Mike for another great event.

Was great seeing everyone and finally meeting a few faces I hadn't met before, great crowd of people.

A friend came along and really enjoyed the event, he took a few pics of Japshow which will give an idea of what the day was like. Enjoy....

Thanks Steve and yep, thats the plan, like you said on my very 1st run thats whats needed.
I think it puts me 3rd place in class 1 just another 7th of a second and its 2nd place :D Oh thats just behind you Hmm lets see what i can unbolt

Hey George nice pics looks like the blue Zs going to need wheely bars soon lol

Yes, I think so! The guy who built it certainly knew what he was doing.

13.6 seconds from a home built NA running triple carbs, amazing achievement and I am sure there is more to come.

Leaderboard after Eight Rounds: 1. Paul Hopkinson 160 2. John Palmer 146 3. Darren Stiles 127 4. Rob Smith 105 5. Mike Brown 68 6. George Antoniou 42 7. Terry Taylor 39 8. Mike Feeney 36 9. Steve Kiddell 27 10. Charles Leekam 24 11. Jon Billings 22 12. Matt Bannister 16 13= Ian Patmore 14 13= Tony Manktelow 14 15. Frank Marino 13 16. Neil Marston 10 17. Kurt Baur 9 17= Tracy Albrighton 9 The rest with 2 / 4 / 6 / 8 spectator points only. Round 9 at Shakespeare County has the Wild Card Bracket Eliminator - the fastest and most consistent runners could go out in the first round and anyone in the 10 could score a whole bunch of points to send them shooting up the leaderboard. If we could get a sixteen car field together then the points haul could be even greater! (I was going to use a ROFL Smiley but they seem to be broken...?)

Best I can do Mike

Thank you Steve! So what is happening? None of my text formatting, quotations, links, Smileys etc. are working. Is it a site glitch or something I need to investigate at this end?

Oh - and I'm still not allowed to do attachments. No matter how much I empty, the red bar remains the same implying that my "allowance" is full...

Would have thought this would be your end
