Drag Challenge Round 8 - JapShow Santa Pod

Better hurry (Jonny & Darren) the Melton express will be in the 11's spring 2012 and you wouldn't want a weedy L6 powered car being the first 11 second road legal S30 would you...........

Well after a bit more of a thorough examination the front end is bent on the silver zed so not driveable :(

Anybody in the midlands need a pass?

I had hoped that my new tyres would have been delivered by now, looks like I will have to run my yogoslavian cart wheel specials again.....!!

I'll be there on the Sunday.

Be good to see you in the 11's steve. You are certainly pushing the boundaries in the Uk for the S30. you are currently several years R & D and a big chunk of money ahead of me but I think I'm doing pretty well for my first year. Next year I'll able to develop the car a bit more and possibly join you in the 11's club.

I can confirm I'll be there but not sure when.

I think the car is already an 11 second car - the only thing that needs developing is the driver :p:p:p:D

Please note for those of us left attending, The Z Club corral is in Area 5. This is situated within the large tarmac area on your right as you enter the top pit entry road - just up from the Show & Shine.

Your Vehicle Pass will get you early entry before the public between 7-00am and 8-00am on Sunday morning or from 8-00am on Saturday morning if attending then as well.
Public entry is from 8-00am on Sunday and, if the weather is good, will generate long queues to get in.

If you are making a late decision to attend, I will have some spare Vehicle Passes for Sunday - you will need to park in the public car park and walk round to get a Pass if you wish to display your Z.

Call me on 01277 374201 today or tomorrow or on my mobile 07785 932086 on Sunday.

The day picks the man Mick

No point in running if your not going to go quicker and until the spring, I am not going quicker.

One could argue then Steve that despite the boast of being a Road legal it is so finely tuned and temperamental that its practically undrivable as a normal road car?

Participation in the Drag Challenge - which is not all about going quicker as you know, having been instrumental in writing the rules.

Getting out of the house to see your mates more often...

Enjoying the drive...

Being There...

As usual Mr F 100% correct
Except you missed one other point off the list that being by attending any event being responsible of helping to put a smile on an organisers face for doing a task well

There's an old saying that I'm forever telling my children, "it's not just about winning, it's the taking part", which I wholeheartedly agree with. Imagine how boring motorsport would be if the only person that turned up was the one knew he would do the best time.

I try to make the effort to attend every event and show my support for the Z club. I go to Santa Pod come rain or shine(or snow) and if there's no racing it's still a good social event. I remember a time, a few years ago now, that Steve used to do the same. Please don't turn this into a Moan at Steve thread though. We are all different, have different commitments, and shouldn't be forced to do something they don't want to do.

Anyway, I had a good day at the Pod today, although the runs were pretty slow. Still, enjoyed talking to the many people who came over to look at the car and spent all day talking car, what more can you ask. Was a bit lonely on the Z club stand so I didn't park there for fear of looking like Billy no-mates.

See you all tomorrow.
