Hi all,

Just thought ide post a few pics of my progress......Engine is out and car is on the trailer ready to go to the bodyshop in the morning....it will be roughtly 3 weeks getting respayed.

Engine block and head are going off mid week to the machine shop to have work done, should have them back the following week.

Well today I stripped back the wiring loom, degreased the engine bay and gave it a power wash before its rubbed down...........came up pretty clean and rust free.

Also removed the drivers door and stripped the door down.

My 260 looks very similar, it's called laguna blue metallic...according to Z Farm.

Yeah as far as I know thats an origonal Datsun colour.........Done a bit at the engine yesterday evening,

Got the crank and new main bearings in and got the pistons onto the rods.........should get them into the block over the weekend at some stage I hope.

Yeah im keeping everything as clean as I can and oiling everything up as I go along...............

Got a bit done on the body today

Im not going to put the back bumper back on the car to welded up all the holes around the back.

Wow looks like it's really cracking on, I think Z's look good without the rear bumper been toying with the idea of removing mine for a while.

Ha yeah the jack doesn't look very well balanced but its built into the floor so no chance of moving

I think it makes the car look wider and more aggressive from the back without the bumper

well almost ready for primer now, got the paint today, went for a ford gunmetal grey and got the matt black laquer.

ha yeah, think weve spent more time throwing darts than working on the car!!

well it got its first coat of primer today, getting 4 coats altogether, hoping to get the engine bay painted gunmetal tomorrow so I can take the car back and get thye engine in and running over the next couple of weeks.

Thanks DJZ, does look alot better with a bit of primer on it!! Wish I was doing it all myself but all I done was a bit of sanding, a friend done all the rest.........
