Z progress

The good thing about fitting flares is it gives the look of a lowered car by lowering the arch onto the wheel.
 
Yes i also lowered the car, I used Eibach pro kit springs, it only lowered it by about an inch but as twoforty say's you can move the arch lower over the wheel to give it the lowered look if you didn't want to change the suspention.
 
Hi all,

Well the car got painted today, took longer to get ready for painting than I thought, had to weld nuts into the back quaters to take the rear arches, so that area had to be primed again.
only the bonnet and scuttel panel left to go grey everything else is black, hoping to have it finished by the end of next week, all the stainless bit are going to take time.........

Hoping to have it finished by next weekend, getting all the chrome bits done black so they are going to take a bit of time, still all the hard work is done now..........I hope.

Dont forget the guttering is stainless and will polish up nice...;)
 
Im getting the guttering painted black also Grolls..........I dont want any shiny bits on the car apart from the wheels, the black parts are going to be front bumper, wheel arches, fender mirrors,back spoiler, rear light clusters and all shiny bits around the doors ect.......I got matt black laquer so the black is going to have a dull finish.

When I got my car all the bright stuff had already been blacked out. I just spent the last 3 years gradually putting it back to original. :D

Ha we all have different tastes, I'll see what its like when its finished, maybe I wont like the look at all but only one way to find out............
 
Well got the outside finished at last and managed to get 15 miles up on the engine..................the colour turned out nice and works well with the black.

Full credit to you Jay, you've done a wonderful job and in a short time too.

I think the arches and wheels suit a 2+2, they give it a broader stance.

Wow. That looks awesome. It's so well balanced with the colour too. No excuses for anyone saying the 2+2 looks anything other than cool.
 
thanks for the comments, turned out better than I thought it would, Just have the interior to finish off now. gonna change the front seats and thinking about not putting the back seats back in, maybe a roll cage instead.
