Nice!!! Did you wear the obligatory white socks to go with it!? I miss wearing white socks - always thought they were cool ��

Not only did I wear white socks but I had the brogues with the bottle tops to go with them (not my pic, I was way cooler )

But my favourite car was a genuine AVO RS2000 (once again not my pic)

Sadly I had booked it into a garage for some work over a bank holiday and it got vandalised, car was turned on its roof and the alloys stolen, 1988 was a bad year.

I found loads of old photos when I was looking for the photo of my Astra and I definitely wore white sox when I used to drive it, this is me and some old mates back in the day...

Mk 1 GTE's are still pretty cars

I had a grey mk2 16v GTE in the 90s - it was fantastic with its digital dash! Got an Indicated 145mph out of it on the way back from Le Mans once.

My first orange car

Mine was a 7 year old 1973 BMW 2500 in Inka orange, isurance was a killer though for a 17 year old on a provisional licence. This isn't mine as can't find any photos from way back then

My first car was a 1971 Hillman Avenger which was the old family car my dad had bought new. I ruined it in no time and replaced it with a 1973 Austin Mini 1000 with a 1275 Alegro engine and Wolfrace alloys. Cost me £350, you could see daylight through the floor! Great fun though...
