Why a rear spoiler ?

Not sure if this is on topic but the rest of the thread hasn't been for a while.
We are v.interested in the effects of the rear wing at FRP, if I made an angle adjustable rear spoiler/wing is any one willing to fit to their car for timed drag/lap times. I'll start a new thread if the thread poster is cheesed off.

And I don't give a toss why they have or don't have a spoiler in what ever bloody market the car happened to be sold in, It was over 30 years ago for ***** sake who cares,

Perhaps not many but :

a) if you don't care which is fine - move on to another thread

b) the point in asking why Nissan.....is to help determine the advantages so it IS relevant and was over 40 years ago for the lame at maths.

I am interested to see the onion muncher handed his ass on track and strip though lol.

I was onc told that it's all scientific and that whether you're a complete novice or THE expert, the 1/4 mile run is a confirmed, performance-data calcule - human input is miniscule..........perhaps I misunderstood in which case, Skidden will hammer back in the nails soon.Whatever, Skidden has all the gubbins to get off the line at optimum power and traction and via the Christmas tree so I would expect him to be ahead.

On the track.....I do maybe two track-days per year...it might be different but paint might get scratched.....;) !

Shoot me down cos I don't know much about the marketing of the cars but were spoilers and sunroofs etc added to the cars at the uk/euro dealers request so they could bump up the price of what was a very reasonably priced sportscar at the time to line their pockets?

Sunroofs ? Who mentioned sunroofs ? You want to sell f/g roof-skins next ?

The spoilers were factory items - headlights for sure and I think.....front indicators and maybe door mirrors were dealer additions but more for the law than bumping up prices.

I'm on but be VERY careful of the fitting method - I don't want permanent holes !

Buy a f/g tailgate then you tight ****.
But definately interested in some trials on your yellow boneshaker.

I would if I could find a good from a reliable supplier..........

Like I said, I'd like to know more how this variable spoiler fitted onto a hatch.........unless you're suppling a 2nd hatch of course........ !

Hmmm, a road and also a track hatch - tempting !

Dear Dave please get me
1. Loads more horsepower (60 should do)
2. Loads more torque (20 ft/lbs)
3. loads less weight (80-100 kilos?)
4. Decent track day tyres
5. Decent diff (you know one of them quaife things that proper cars have)
6. Proper gearbox (not a cheap ass S13)
7. Proper brakes not something from a scrap yard

Its nice spamming one of your threads Sean for a change, its payback for the hundreds of threads you have screwed up.

I've found another fairly relavant article to this thread amongst my piles of literature and if anyone is interested I'll digitalise it after I've moved house this week.
It's name

Project Car: Crisis-Fighter Z-Car by Don Sherman

It discusses various spoilers both front and rear and backs up it's conclusions with some scientific measurement and telemetry.

Hypocrit, after the countless times you've complained then sulked off when it got too much for you.....that's what'll be like on the track together.:p ! Or are you behaving like the forum justice of the peace and revenging for the hundreds of poor wall-flowers who cannot defend themselves ?

I don't mind, really - you continue to under-estimate my car when the only time you ever saw it (5 years ago) was when you didn't go out on the track for suspension doute reasons and I still appreciate you giving me your pass in your place since I'd come a long way to participate.

Back on topic, it's a good write-up Matt - we stuck it up on our forum a while back for info and discussion. Maybe everybody here already knows everything.......... ?

A friend of mine works for an F1 team and he always says he wants to get my car in the wind tunnel! A trip like that would certainly be very telling wouldn't it, also could try various wing designs or a diffuser fitted onto the fuel tank maybe? That way, if you prefer the look of the car without the rear spoiler then this would at least give the down force I guess...

Perhaps Albrecht (Alan T) has some of Nissan's original data from their wind tunnel during the cars development??

Sean get your facts right, (again) why doesnt your brain know when your beaten.

If you notice I will never deliberately spam a thread unless I have been accused of something, then it is my right to challenge the accusation, however enough people know you by now and realise that you are just a forum troll with fcuk all to offer the world except regurgitated **** from wherever:rolleyes:.

It was only 2 weeks ago that I responded (on its own thread) to your baited bias diatribe about Japanese cars, 12 seconds and throttle bodies, I wrote two in depth pieces asking you to justify your accusations and assumptions but as usual nothing.
We all waited for you to reply but where were you, .....no where to be found, (hiding with your fingers in your ears going LALALA) I even had people PMing me about it, waiting for you to reply so you could be taken apart.
After several days went by, I had the thread deleted as it served no purpose (its purpose was to have a seasoned reasonable debate on its own thread)
As for your car, I don’t really care Sean, it’s of no interest to me, you on the other hand should really pay attention to others cars you might learn something instead of being stuck in a 70’s timewarp.
How on earth do you on one hand accept track session pass off a guy who gave it to you as a sign of friendship……. and then spend the next 5 years taking every opportunity to pull him and his achievements down, ulterior motives perhapsDo me a favour Sean; keep your baiting comments to yourself until you have the faintest idea what you’re talking about.
From now on Sean I will not respond to any of your posts or PMs, its not worth my time and I won’t be associated with your childish games.

Let others learn for themselves what you’re like.

I apologies to everyone else for having to write this.
