I didn't realise your car was orange Franky I obviously don't pay attention enough

I could just rattle a load of numbered formulas for the colour as it has no name or make, I has already chosen one from a paint supplier it wasn't until Monday afternoon I needed some etch primer and the paint factors was shut, so I went round to my local body shop to see if he would sell me some when i realised he makes and matches his own colours so we spent an hour doing some mixing, its based on an orange chrome, not bad as its just a 1 stage colour so no white undercoat, pearl, or laquer required

he also told me he can get 7 1/2 litres of it it in Max Mayor for £60 less than my normal supplier :D

Terry I think you and Franky will end up with the same colour cars.

Your car has come a long way since I saw it, well done. You do have a fantastic facility to work on it though - you deserve credit for that too.
Thanks rob that was 2 years ago you saw it last and yes it is handy having the place to do it in, I'm already looking at them thick interlocking tiles to lay on the garage floor at home when the fitting up starts as i'll be on my back and knees doing brake pipes and stuff

I wouldn't expect you to remember every car colour

Mine was the the original 918 colour mix using PPG paint, it looks spot on to me, I just can't quite work out why yours wasn't the same but it makes sense now. Dome other makes of the same colour just didnt look right.

Calliper bracket time

2 options here

1) take the suspension and calliper to a machine shop and be prepared for a large bill
2} do a cardboard template think about how your going to do it then get to work

most difficult part was working out how to bore a hole in the middle for the rear bracket for the hub, lucky I had an old pole from a road sign laying around and the old but trusty lathe, first use the gas axe for the rough shape then tack weld piece of large tube to plate, turn hole in centre grind to shape and test, Mondays job make 2 x banana shape plates weld to ears of fabricated plate drill for calliper mounting holes
Job done apart from the cables but has the easy bit

Only just seen this post and don't know if it has been mentioned already but you can turbo and super charge these. A friend of mine had his M3 supercharged. I can't remember the make but they're out there.

Oops nearly forgot to cut the exhaust openings on the rear panel before getting painted all done now :) and thought while I'm at it better check the roll cage fits with the roof skin attached so while i'm at it i'm going to tie it into the roof pillars but still keeping it bolt in

Probably not Franky but I have no intentions of looking at it at 8k in any gear but as you know the s54 is capable of 8200 rpm and 9ish with some internals but its programmable so if I get to that stage i'll just programme it 50% less

I was thinking it might be a little shy, just tipex 8.5 on it;)

Looks great Tel - can't wait to see it.
