Good work Terry

When you look at that roof it brings it home why Roll-cages are so wise of competition/track cars! Also no wonder S30s are so light in weight compared to modern cars - the body is very simple especially at the rear.

It must be so good having the facilities and experience/skills that you have. Many of us just have a single garage and DiY tools.

Yes Rob the shell in this state is is very much like a tin box even the good metal is hard to weld as it is so thin compared to othe makes, having the workshop is a bonus but during the week working on the car is always a nightmare due to work, so i end up spending weekends on the car, hopefully soon i can take it home and spend the evening on it as well :D

Excellent stuff Tel.
It must be a nice feeling to get it this stage I would imagine.

Yes it is good Matt, next stage is to do some body repairs to the rear 1/4s and the seams then paint the tub, oh no scrap the painting need to fit the fibreglass doors bonnet and tailgate on for a dummy run

Something like this Gwyn got to be six years ago done the blue one i must be mad

Great choice Jagermeister orange then maybe . No your not mad you've got the Z bug :D I've had it for 26 years . Now I've started collecting MG ZT's :smash: cos Z's have got too expensive.

What wheels do you have on your blue by now by the way as I've not seen any recent pics of it.

Must call in & see you sometime, can you email me your postcode & tel no so I can arrange a hotel near by when I'm staying in Essex.

Funny that Gwyn i just bought a rover mg zt 190 manual in trophy blue, 50'000 miles with dented rear quarters probably going to break it for parts

U have PM ;)

Not much done this week to busy doing real work :(

Thought it was about time to get some suspension sorted out so had a look through the store and found some spare hubs and legs going to get two sets done one for me and the other for some lucky member here

spent the day in the 30 degrees heat  linishing and putting a fine spread of filler over the new floor pan joins and new fuel tank cell holder (old spare wheel well) then a light coat of gravitex stone chip, breaks my heart to keep putting stuff on the car as a litre of stone chip and a small tub of easy sand light bondo must be about a kilo not o worry though must have shotblast 5 kilos of old paint and underseal off

Cheers for the support and interest lads keeps you going

still cracking on with pre paint mode had another day fitting up wings and doors and the best bit that I thought was going to be a nightmare was fitting the dash it was uncanny seeing Pmacs post yesterday fitting his dash :smash:

anyway onwards and upwards as i'm trying to make things a bit lighter I'm fitting one of throttletons f/glass dashes so I thought i'd weigh a standard dash with clocks switches and loom  27 kgs, f/glass one with frame 5.5 kgs with no clocks or wiring, so I rekon when its all dressed with gauges and the bmw light wiring I could be looking at about 17 kilos saving

In the pics you will see the whole steel frame fitted then a load of it cut away then the dash fitted, I will be using windscreen bond to fix the dash to the frame and a u bracket at the bottem just in in front of the centre consul
