what was the reason for removing it?

There was a gentle knocking sound at engine speed.
First noticed it when I started the car after fitting the damper inserts a few weeks ago.
It’s ok Franky, no need to feel sad!
Here it is:
Dizzy/oil pump drive gear split on the keyway. Can only think it’s a poor quality replacement part.
I’ve got original Nissan one spare so that will be going back in.
Cheap fix. With the money I saved i think I’ll buy that Nodiz
Thanks for the sympathy
All in all, I’m pretty happy - it was a chance to confirm the important bits are in good shape despite the hard life I’ve given it this year, and an opportunity to improve a few things over the winter
I managed to get some off cuts of Titanium in work so I made some new velocity stacks for my DCOE's
Had a mess around with some heat on the spares but don't know if i should heat them or just leave them machined finish ? I don't want them looking like those cheap exhaust tips,
what do you lot think? which do you prefer ?
Yes, engine internals.
No xmas baubles.
Sort of money. But the opposite.
Here’s a clue:

Hi Jon, are you confident that the damage is limited to the gears? What are the round bits on the pick-up filter. Just wondering if something has fallen into the gears? However if John says this has happened to Dean's car perhaps it's a material failure.
Anyway good luck with the 'fix'.
Arrh You'll be needing a Bronze Drive next time then John.
Well, get crank triggered ignition which is the Nodiz bit, skim the head a bit to get the compression up from just under 11 to nearer 12, some baffles in the sump.
Be interested to hear how it goes with the NODIZ please.
Where do they come from Matt? I saw a pic of one on a nissan parts list online, but wasn’t obvious where to buy!
Thanks Rob, I thought those little round bits were sealant from the sump bolts - but I’ll have a think in case they could have come from somewhere else.
