Hi all,
Joined the The Z Club a couple of months ago and, having met a few of you fine Gents at The Jap Performance Show last week, thought I better introduce myself and my new project.
Firstly, I'm (according to my wife) the father of Jay. on here who owns an RB25 powered 240z, and it's basically all his fault I've ended up in this position.
Last year he bought this project car and had it imported into the UK. Before it had even landed, he decided that he didn't have the time or space to fully commit so sold it on to his younger brother. However, he is presently working in the USA and has now committed to staying out there for another 3 years. As we're about to lose its current storage space (my late father's garage), he suggested that it would be nice if I took the project over!
I know nothing about 240z's and even less about RB26's. I am not a mechanic and have had no formal training in any form of auto restorations. However, I grew up helping my father tinkering with cars in the 70's and have had a bit of experience playing with MX5's. I love reading and researching on all the forums and, in theory have lots of time on my hands having recently taken early retirement.
This will not be a quick, lets get it done asap type of restomod, and fully expect it to take a number of years to complete. Hopefully I'll get it done before I die peacefully of old age!
As I don't have any photos of the car with me atm and the car is still at my dad's house, I will put a link to the original ad on Hybridz. Mods - hope this is acceptable, I've read the forum rules and couldn't find anything against it!
