Nice for blasts in the countryside but not much good for long distance touring with the need to recharge. The only car I would convert to electric would be a Delorean
Everthing else would be a no
Delorean would be a great candidate and also a Citroen DS, innovative but possibly let down by an engine derived from the traction avant.
I do feel like the soul is removed though once certain classics are converted, especially when its a car that is very much defined by its engine.
Totally agreed with that. Oh don’t forget rattle and squeaks like a car designed 40 odd or so years ago (even fully restored you know it’s gonna rattle some where) and no fantastic engine note to drown it out.For me, a large part of the car experience and especially so in the Datsun, is to hear the engine and exhaust doing their thing. If you want electric buy a modern one, because a converted classic is missing half of it's identity and will sound and smell as dull as dishwater!
