Arguably the three musketeers, arguably the three wise monkeys, arguably the three stooges.... definitely three V8's

Oh ..... and I know of someone else thinking of a small block chevy in a short wheelbase 300......and he knows EXACTLY what he's up to if he decides to go for it :D

With the amount of anti Z V8 sentiments flying around here I am afraid I will get shot out of the sky

Dare I say Pathfinder, im not a big fan of the 350z, for me, a car has to hit the right notes, style wise, the 350, just doesnt do it for me.
I suppose it does if you compare it with some sports cars, but it dont hit the top note for me. I think the trouble with too many new sports motors is that they tend to look the same ish. Perhaps im just a nerd, but yesterday i greeted a friend who has an 02 plate DB7, I didnt know he had bought it, and as I approached, from a distance it could have been a XK8, do you see where im coming from, (cloud cuckoo land, yeh i know). Lovely piece of kit though, both of them. The 350z is too, but dont it look a bit audi TT from some angles?

Yakes ive done it now!!!

jeeeezzzzzzzzzz....i brought that (obvious) one up a few weeks ago!...from a distance it looks very audi TT ....i dont care if its a better car or worse or ...'in the middle somwhere !...but it does look similar.

Classics are uncompoarable with modern cars.

I'll now shuttp, si.

I like the 350Z but I heard the engine was based on the Dourvin Renault one, and I do not like Renaults, so it is GM V8 for my ZX I am afraid (oops I shouldn't have said that)

Don't be shy..............there isn't that much anti-V8 sentiment.

Besides, who really cares of some don't do V8's in a Z ?

Strange that, cos last time I saw your car it certainly didn't have a V8 in it. Come to think of it, it didn't have much in it at all.

I think you need to get this car built before you can claim to be a wise monkey.

Anyone can talk a car re-build. Did I tell you about the W16 Bugatti Veyron lump I salvaged from my local yard the other week. Gonna drop it in a Z432R shell and fit it with Skyline four wheel drive :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I don't think that there is any antiV8 feeling...except when the V8 lads (or lad :) start lecturing the rest of us that we're idiots not to have done the same as you've loads more power, better fuel economy AND it costs less to do than a modded series L !
Sort of positive racism against the majority who do run the in-line six and are quite satisfied ! You might say, arrh, that's because they haven't driven a V8 Z - true, not many have so ZHeads' idea to get these V8s out there and convince people by experience rather than by words 'cos wrods don't count for much against driving a Z as it sure aint bland like the modern cars, even if Nissan did tune the exhaust of the 350Z to make it 'feel' right !

I don't believe any V8 owner ever lectured any of you in the way you describe, and to my recollection he did not call anybody an idiot either, at least not until some pretty idiotic remarks were made about his car, he defended his position against some very silly comments, this is why Hybrid Z's were formed in the first place.............to keep silly purist remarks at bay, it seems us V8 owners get fed up with the if it doesn't have an L series it is sacrilege especially as we have all had L series Z's at some time or the other and appreciate the deficiencies and limitations the L series present, I still have a problem getting my head around the renault engined 350Z though, I wonder what the purists think of that.

I'm not really sure The Z Club has any real purists. That's a major plus for the club; One Club All The Cars.

I'll be keeping an L series in my 260Z albeit an L28. This does not make me a purist by any stretch of the imagination. I'm sure such a purist would still dissaprove of what my intentions are.

I agree a bit more tact should be dealt when talking of others cars. It is a personal subject.

Well spotted, publicly known and factual - my car is in build, however, saying I am talking a car build is total bollocks, if you have seen my shell now it has been dipped (which you may not have done because it is not at the workshop) you would realise the amount of time, effort and money being poured into it. What about the F1 flanges and drive shafts ? What about new front and rear bumpers ? What about the new panels ? What about anything that frankly you know diddly shit about because you did not have the courtesy to ask before you attacked ? I have already spent way more money on bits for this build than the highest dealer price for a mint 240 in any of the classic mags.

Tell me ANY car that has ANY engine in it before it is painted ? Oh.... unless you are bodging together an old nail that is.

By all means attack the idea of a V8, that is open for discussion, debate, ridicule or whatever but I take offense at being attacked personally from someone that does not know anything about me or what I am doing. Ask first THEN attack if you see fit but at least have the relevant information before your mouth goes into gear :D
