Thanks Chris and Pondo ... lovely pics of the lovely cars!

If I didn't know that was an HP Firenza I'd have said it was a mini 60s Superbee from a millisecond glance! (Boot up acts as the rear spoiler!) Apparently only 204 Droop Snoot versions of the Firenza were made - I wasn't aware it was that low ...

Who owns the car in the bottom pic?
Black and cream turboZ - did not see anyone with that car?

That's Steven Gove's car I believe, he's local to MK and also owns a of Hakosuka generation GTR with an RB26 conversion which get s about and has won prizes.

Unusual scheme but looks fabulous I think. Nice to see so many Z's out together.

Not a GTR.

Alan, can you educate me on how to tell the difference? and what the more standard version of the car is called?

I'd heard that it may have just had the badge fitted however this confirms. Pressume the genuine GTR's also had the S20 engine making them few and far between?

there is a GTR version of a Hakosuka but a lot of GTX's are converted to look like a GTRs

Basically 95% of Hakosuka's (2dr coupe or 4 door sedan) are non GT-R spec. And to make matters more complicated, a very high % of non GT-R's are dressed up as GT-R's.

So if you work on the premise that everytime you see a Hako, it's not a GTR, you will be fairly close to reality.

there are several non GTR models, some had sorter noses for lesser engines.. I've sat in a GTX moded to a GTR spec and looked at GTR variant versions in Japan. They do sound amazing, there is a video where he re-visited the track later years later in the same car, I will try and find it on youtube
