startup woes

My 280z won't start... starter motor cranks, fuel is pumping & lines are clear, distributor spinning, spark plugs are sparking, but it won't even give me a cough or splutter. Other than the fuel injection system, any ideas for what else to check for?

After cranking the engine, remove the plugs, if the are dry no fuel is reaching the cylinders, also check the ignition timing, are the plug leads connected in the correct sequence ??

Hi

Couple of things to check

-Fuel pump working? Think you said your getting fuel.
-Air leaks - PCV valve, dip stick seal, manifold, air flow meter etc
- injectors working, should click if listening or use a bulb across the terminals
- connections good on temperature sensors, pump relay, EFI harness etc.
- compression

I’ve attached a piccy of a check list for early injection on a 280ZX, that may help, I would think your injection system might be similar?
