Spanish trip

I agree with Sean. Accomoadation here in Spain in the rural areas is a lot cheaper than the UK. I´m not planning to use motorways or dual carriageways, there are so many wonderful "B" roads over here ............. I suggest that the people that would like to come should make sure that their suspension & brakes are all working well as I promise that you will be using them !!!!!!!!

If anybody has any suggestion or questions please post a reply here & we´ll get back to you.

looking at the possabilities of flying out to Pau (ryanair)
hiring a car there
and then flying back to england from Barcellona (easyjet)
that way saves 2 days driving out and thee days driving back
got to find out about dropping car of in different country

just another option

I think I will jump in the convoy at La Rochelle and will see how far I can go with you guys. It's a busy time of the year for me, but maybe I can take a long week-end...

If you stop in La Rochelle, I can find room for you around... if your not too many that is!

Or I will come and see you an other time Simon, I need a honeymoon trip with my new ZX

Got the big thumbs up here - it's just a question of fitting in all our commitments next year - as soon as a date firms up, I'll be able to say yay or nay ... Sounds like a fab trip though - wouldn't want to miss it. :D

Neil,
Don't come on your own, find someone to share the driving/ costs !
Steve Burns,
Why not just sell the ZX if you're not gonna use it ! I think one has to be a little 'exclusive' here and say a Nissan Z or ZX model has to be present (and I don't mean a Bluebird !) ! Try and get a lift with someone else !
Boomer, I'm like you, I may just join the trip for a limited period (money/baby and possibly work commitments - we'll see !
Symon, I've emailed you !

As former organiser I know all about it but first you have to show us some dates and a reasonable plan. On the other hand LOTS of people are considering what shall I do go to Spain or go to Le Mans???? Wish I had a money tree……………

Hi Guus,
I´ll make sure that you have some definate dates and plans to study. Even so I´d love to see "old number five" and Fast Guus in Spain, even if it is just to try and drink you under the table ! Please let Auke, Jaap and Mark Kwaak know about what we are planning as I really think this should as international as possible.

I´ve had a 3rd Spanish Z that has confirmed that he will be with us, Alexis Ordoñez with his 92 300zxtt 2 seater. At the rate we are going we´ll be starting a club over here,

Guus, it isn't MY car that breaks down !!!

Symon, don't start a Spanish Club, begin a 'regional' group of The Z Club ! Boomer and I are thinking of doing such in France !

For the budget, work it out at least 10 days at 100 euros plus petrol and occasional extras then throw in some family committments and I might even HAVE to work at that time but I will aid the planning and be there at least when you're in France !

Cathy is up for it, even with two cars - I'm the cautious one here !

Hi Grolls,
Just just stuck in with your car and so you can come, even so I get the feeling that this one is going to be full up.

So, you've got yourself a ride then ? You could always rent my Z31 which I assure you will have no trouble climbing the hills !

Back to the top of the pile because if there is no more interest, I won't be organising this !

For those dear friends who do wnat to go, we can organise this between ourselves off-line if the general Z public don't go for it !

I give it until the end of the year and then it's just between us !

Hi Sean,

I´m getting together with Josep Carbonell on Tuesday evening to plot out the route and work out some of the finer details. I´ll post the info on this thread before I go off to China on Friday.

Spanish Trip

Friday Night: We propose an 1st overnight stop in the small town of Châlus, just south east of Limoges. We know the hotels well having already organised a Z weekend here in 2002 !
To get there from the North, one must take the A71at Orléans and then the A20 at Vierzon until south of Limoges where one must take the N21 to Châlus.

The next day we propose the following route to Pau, eating on the way somewhere :

N21 to Perigueux and Bergerac then
D933 to Marmande and on towards Mont de Marsan but turning before onto the D934 to Aire sur l'Adour and onto the N134 to Pau.

This route (from Orléans to Limoges takes you on the least crowded motorways) and from Châlus onwards avoids the busiest roads whilst taking in the delightful Dordogne and Lot countryside - some nice Z roads too !
Saturday night: stay at or nearby Pau
Sunday morning: drive into Pau (exclusive club parking) to appreciate the free spectacle 'Grand Prix Historic de Pau'. This was and is traditionally a closed road circuit twisting up and down through the city and has many varied classes of classic cars racing - it's usually very competitive !
Sunday afternoon: leave Pau for Spain on the D934 towards Col de Somport - 1632m and Jaca !
From there on we're in the hands of Symon and Josep !
