I still feel new to all this so , for what its worth,,,,even though i`ve been outspoken at times,,,,
i found this club / site because of an advert in a magazine , i knew the car i had bought was a 1991 zx 300 fairlady ,so that was a start, and i was able to find this club/web site and then info gained found that my car was in fact a z32 with other letters because it was of japanese origin...But it was the "zx" that helped and a picture of the car,,so i think the banner should have :>
z240--picture background---date --->allmodels(Datsun/Nissan) upto---z350--picture background--date !
That keeps it simple ,,,,
and then use the home page on the web site to have all the models with links etc off the pictures ,,etc,,

aaaaand to be really really nitpicky, mine isn't a "300ZX" - it's a Fairlady Z - but then it's covered by the "Z" so that's alright
I too used to own a Z32....A 1990 NA Fairlady Z !The main market for these cars though, was the US, where they were called 300 ZeEx.The UK, Europe, Canada and the Antipodes also called them 300ZX rather than Fairlady Z.Suppose the Fairlady name doesn't travel too well across the pond!

Ah hah I get the idea!
Now say we kept the idea of one colour car loading like it does now (I'll tidy it up more and put the model next to it, link it to a tech spec list that the gurus can come up with (making this THE resource for UK spec cars at least) and then do that outline and slogan.
Good stuff Steve, oh I got the .dpp file you sent thanks but I dont know what program its for and couldn't open it. Now I have the idea though I'll try to do it tomorrow night (off to the NEC tomorrow for the bike show (anyone going??) and I'm gonna go fit a new chain to my motorbike now OR go do some welding on the landy...).

it seems a shame about how interested you all are about YOUR CLUB
Only five of you have bothered to view the attachment ( see earlier post in this thread) in over a week sometimes it makes you feel like why bother but we will get there in the end

I can't see what all the fuss is for !
With the rotating pictures of cars, they surely give floating visitors a feel for what the club is about ? Yeah, it would be nice to update the line images (then I'll 1/2 inch it for our club over here) but we'd be better off with a link direct from and heavily emphasised to a page deatiling ALL THE CARS with their model years and serial numbers. An image with all that at the top of the page is going to look too busy !
A few pictures giving the history before the Z might be constructive too (Fairlady roadsters) and also some parallel Nissan performance cars (Skylines from the late '50s to now and perhaps Silvias / Bluebirds). All of this shows the heritage of Nissans competition which led them to develop and market the Z in the first place !

little flash thinggy - again, its hand drawn so the cars aren't perfect... if anyone has a vector based version of any of the above images, send them my way and I can improve the above.
Anyway, grand... I probably wont be around much for the next week or two, but I'll try and pop in.

I admit, I'm one of the clubs' simpletons with computers and programmes etc and therefore easily impressed but i like it !
Could there be a little bit more time before the arrival of each car, as if each driver was coming to an emergency stop to place the car at the exact spot (as per F1 ) ?
The club logo looks a little more up to date (polished) but otherwise unchanged which I prefer - there's only be one logo change since the club began in 1976 - sort of shows our continuity of support for the beasts !

Ah hah! A nicer version of the logo! I like all apart from the fade in the gray at the bottom, sorry to be picky as its a much better job than I could do in any sensible amount of time. Nice one though, I like it a lot, beats the scanned image thats been around since dot by the looks of things.
I dont much like these line art images though myself, I think they look quite dated personally. Not sure of a better option though?
We could do with something that is 264x105px though Mark if you could please, with all the cars, the logo, the model number, the slogan etc Now if you can do all that with Nissan/Datsun included in those few pixels (flash is fine) then your a better man than I. Also some preloading would be good i.e. the club logo with a percentage hidden in the corner and then the cars routine looped?

Just a thought, but how about makeing the Japan part of the banner with its rising sun streakes - does that make sense ??
It would square off the whole banner and might tie in well with the red bits of the Union Jack.
