Fratteroli's Historic Win
Terrific Performance by Domenic to win his first Historic Rally last weekend !
And, it should be measured by the quality and quantity of the Competition - there are several serious Teams in the MSA British Historic Championship these days. We are talking guys spending around £100,000+ per year, with the very best Escort BDA's & Porsche 911's professionaly prepared & run as the Works Teams in the '70's, with BIG Transporters & dozens of Mechanics, etc...., so all the more credit to Domenic.
And, he also beat the Escort Mk2 BDA's ( in the Classic class, but doing the same stages ), by over half a minute !
And it must be said, much of the result was due to the Preparation of his Race Engineer Laurence Evans, who has doggedly developed and improved the 240Z over the past 3-4 seasons, which is itself a difficult task as there aren't all the Competition goodies available off the shelf as per the Escorts and 911's, so all the more recognition of his major contribution to Domenic's win.
Laurence also earned a lot of Brownie Points in my estimation by working with me to replace a broken Diff mounting ( until 1.00 a.m in a cold, dark Car Park ), so that I could compete in the Trophy Rally on Sunday..
Terrific Bloke !
Good Luck for the rest of the Championship, Domenic, you deserve to win it !
