A four foot set on stanchions killed the nuts last time.

Lol we talking the same thing here?
3 nuts on top of the strut tower? :conf2:
Mine undone easy! :)
Are you turning the right way ? ;)

The strut insert was a little trickier but providing the body weight is still on it even that should undo with a sharp crack (use a weighted hammer against the T bar if needs be)

Rolling road time :)

Turned out ok as it goes
Didn't go bang n nowt fell off
Russ I was stood 5ft from the tail pipe at max revs, sounds good ;)
Not much room to move but the vid should give you an idea.

Short Video Clicky Here

Sean you was closer then me ;)

185 @ wheels is none too shabby :) Sounds nice as well!!! Onwards and upwards, there has to be lots of potential in your engine? There was a 570bhp version in Retro Cars this month I think.

Cheers Russ, tho I think 570 might be a bit out of my price band :D

Mark
Hows about Yes and no :D
Engine wise yes, tho I’m sure I’ll add bits as n when I find them.
Nos maybe next, and still want some rims for it
Still jobs that need sorting n always on the lookout for goodies, so I guess it’ll never be finished lol.
0 – 60 I don’t honestly know, dunno what happened to me time tickets from the pod run, assuming the time is shown on them ?

The 570 was turbod :) Thought that might be right up your street, anyway you don't plan on getting rid of it any time soon? :)

Russ
Lov the turbo idea n sure I could hang one between the headers down frt. But …. I’m sure if the right offer were there it would be gone tomorrow ;)

Well get a stop watch and a partner in crime, an industrial estate on Sunday... then open her up! Shout when its at 60 :D

900ss,

Just a question from one of the American Cousins. Why did you use the stock exhaust? Was it for the headers? It seemed to make the entire swap harder than was necessary? Is it a requirement of your MOT?

Very nice job.

I am personally waiting for a T56 for my LS1, then into a 78 280Z body.

thanks,

Hi m8
You say stock exhaust? None of it is stock, atleast not any more lol
The complete exhaust was fabricated using 3inch pipe into a 3inch back box, that deffo isn’t stock :)
The manifolds and collector pipe (headers?) I used because they were the bits I had to hand at the time, plus the fact I liked it like that as it makes it more unique ish for what it is. Sure I could have easily found some tubular Rover V8 manifolds over here, but then that was also an added cost issue, to re fabricate my manifolds n get them cut n shut was just a matter of a m8 needing a drink, there was no real added expense. It didn’t make things harder either imo, most things fell into place :)
Btw, Had nowt to do with uk mot

Well I enjoyed it whilst I could :D

But the end is neigh now and it's time for a change :)

Provisionally sold :(

Dunno m8 ?
14.3 was me best time I think on my 1st ever test day :D

Too late now anyway :(
Time for the new owner to get it under that now ;)

Did I miss something ? Why are you selling ? ....................................................................................................do hybridz not give ultimate satifaction:rolleyes: ?

Oh well maybe another day
Sleep tight now .....

Mate, sorry to hear you've sold it and are moving on to pastures hopefully greener. At least you'll have had the satisfaction of freezing your bum off creating a cracking and unique motor, just a shame I didn't have the required sum of money (or anything near like it!) handy otherwise it'd be sat on my drive now!

Who's the lucky new owner? Anyone we know or a Zed newbie?

Cheers,
Rob

*Sniff, sniff* The end of an era!!!! and probably the most veiwed and longest thread in ZClub history:devil:

So honestly, whats next?? You worked oustide throught some really foul weather and now its nice and sunny you're going to stay inside???? ;) :D

I know I must be mad after all that work and I really didn’t want or even need to sell the car :conf2: but I just lost interest over the days I wasn’t driving it. I’ve got a bad habbit of doing that with cars lol. Strange tho, cos I was still looking for goodie bits for it even after I agreed the sale. Maybe if the agreement wasn’t made I would have bought the 4.6 engine for it. Anyway although I don’t own the car anymore the buyer assured me he would continue to make improvements to what it is.
I hope he enjoys it as much as I did and yes he is a user on this bb
Price I suppose some will say I gave it away, certainly I’ve lost a lot in it but I didn’t build it to make money
Next project I don’t 100% know yet, tho I do still have me scort tucked away.
If I find another 240 at the right price I would buy it straight away n do it all again, or maybe NOT lol :D

GREETINGS ALL! I hope Wyn doesn't mind me resurrecting his thread as new owner of the worlds only (as we know it!) ZVR.

Let me introduce myself as Tom rather than some website hook TCH911. I, like Wyn have a worrying love of cars and motorbikes. Z-wise, I started off in life with a fiesty 240Z 2.8 from Geoff Gale (Have a look in my gallery, there's a cheeky oversteer video in there), then bought a mint, kitted 260 from Duncan at Z Farm.

When I saw the thread I knew I wanted it and when I saw it for sale, the deal was as good as done. I test drove it and umm'd and aa'd. Then Wyn escorted me to the local main road to London. As he gunned past at full chat in 3rd, the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, He changed up and a dart of blue flame shot out of the back of the car followed by a crack-crack of unburnt fuel. Sold to the man from del monte!

I picked it up the weekend after and introduced it to some of the flock:

First things first was to get out the Shampoo and give it a good old clean and remove the months of bugs and road grime and I have to say it came out quite well. I filled it up with Optimax and set out to test it's mettle. It seems to drive very well but still has clutch niggles which you all know about from Wyn's thread. Thankfully I have a good local TVR garage so they'll have to get their hands dirty (I'm too busy rebuilding a new engine for my 260).

That white spoiler was an eye-sore though so off it came and primer, primer, primer followed by 10 coats of Satin black (The Zed clubs new favourite, it would seem!). It came out beautifully and mounted straight back on to give the car a good moody look. Tucked away in the garage was a set of Tinted light covers which I love and I'm sure will divide opinion but I think the link the swage lines along the wings with the sharp front bonnet very well.

So here she is at her new home in Wiltshire:

A quick performance test against a friends new E36 M3 Cabriolet down a straight road and I'm only tailing him on the top end, it's a quick little bugger. The first track day is booked for the 7th of August at Keevil in north Wiltshire but I'm going to have to get one of those gay (In the Chris Moyles sense of course, no wish to offend!) baffles (Anyone know where I can get one?) made up/bought.
