Progress is slow but getting there.

I know they can only go one way up but they're sided and that is the debate, I'm trying to work out which side goes where mate, I think I have it right but with out the fitting instructions I'm not 100% confident .

Rob

I knew it was a stupid thing to say anyway  I have never fitted a set of these but did have a pair once only had a quick look at them & both looked the same to me, if they are handed can you not do a comparison with the original left & right hand ones lay one over the top of the other?

Wow I'd fallen off 3 pages lol, I thought i'd been a bit tardy with my build updates but hadn't relised it had been so long since I've actually done anything, I blame Mike because I'm waiting for parts lol.

Anyway I did the little I could do today but got stuck on the rear hubs because I don't have a slide hammer YET lol, I recieved my new stage 4 brake upgrade from the states. I must say the guy I got them from was fantastic to deal with and they arrived with in 5 days of me placing my order, Plus I didn't pay any vat or duty lol.

As you can see from the pictures I have blasted and painted the front struts and cross member, I've installed the new adjustable front struts and you can the yet to be fitted rears in the picture, The new calipers are twice the size of the old standard one so I'm hoping for some nice stopping power.

New Adjustable top mounts.

I managed to get one side nearly completed, I just need to press in the new wheel bearings and paint the back plates.

Do you have a more detailed photo ??

How adjustable are they ??
It looks like the bolt holes are elongated in the i suspect solid to mount probably about an inch of adjusment beware on the rear though the spring cup will foul the turret

I'll put up a stripped down photo on the top mount tomorrow if you like, As Tel said their is about an inch of adjustment, The rears are on back order so I haven't seen them yet, I'm not sure if fouling will be that much of an issue on the rear because I doubt if you'd use much more than - half a degree but time will tell.

So far the worst job has been stripping down the rear wheel bearings :(, Now that was a right work up I must say, And needed the use of my big sledge hammer to get the f@cking things out lol. I've got a second hand set of centres coming though because mine are now totally wrecked :(.

I tried a press then a blow torch and a slide hammer but nothing worked so out come the big guns ;):D.

Allow 1.5 degrees of camber change. Rears are same as fronts, but without the bearings. Height is the same as the shorter early top mounts (240Z and 260Z to 08/74) so will lower later 260Z by approx. 3/4".

Are they solid or metalastic ??

Solid urethane...

Well I suppose that is somewhere in between. I'd like to see one next time you have one in stock (or prior to being sent out on order).

Thanks and sorry for thread hijack Rob - keep going mate, car is looking good.....

.........................but think you missed a trick not painting it pale blue.

As promised a couple more pictures of the adjustable top mounts.

And finally the new brake set up is just about complete, I just need to load the bearings and figure out how the pad anti rattle wires fit lol, I've been left scratching my head so far lol.
