Prettiest car ever? Koenigsegg Volvo P1800

Surely beauty is subjective mon ami? I really quite like it. The first time I saw it I was quite shocked because the lights were actually working (and not in the place you'd expect). That's gotta be a first for a Maser...

Not seen Paul's arse so can't comment... Hey, Burnside... Your turn!

It looks arse heavy and it would be more of a challenge if we set a £30k new price limit !

Burns has more hair on his ars* than his face....don't ask.........I still have nightmares.

I think that looks good enough 'as is'. Stick a 300zx twin turbo in there and hey presto, really bloody quick too!

Wow great pic Sylv! Much easier to guess at how much work would be involved!

That Maser is very nice I think, still trying a bit too hard to be aggressive with the front grill. Rear bumper is a bit of a let down, the lights look a bit cheap.

I agree with Sean, I think we need a £30k price cap to this game as well :)

Impossible. Just impossible. Thanks to 'safety' laws all cars are bulbous instead of svelte and curvy now so this isn't gonna happen. Unless you go to kit cars maybe?

Hmm true true, most kit cars are terrible to look at though being designed by engineers or people who just aren't designers.

And concept cars never get made or if they do end up shadows of themselves (Ford Iosis for a start).

Dale - pick a country first - gotta be the UK surely ! But don't tell me the 911 is pretty.........

Gotta another photo of that P1800, a bit lower and you can see how nicely the wheels and arches blend. Red leather interior sets it of nicely !

My point was, (over here) if the 240z was the equivalent in price to a 911 in 1969, then the price bracket for a modern 'pretty' car should be that of a 911 today, no?

And for clarity, no, the 911 is not pretty. :p

im seeing a massive influence of DB5 and Mustang in that.

However, if volvo are looking, make it.

No.......because we're not comparing a 240 towards other pretty cars of today - we're just looking for pretty cars of today (under £30k ?) full stop.

Info : the 240Z was nearly the same price as 4.2 E-Type so run two games and compare price and your moneys' worth for an XKR (or whatever the modern equivalent of an E-Type is). Means that the 370Z is a bargain I bet !

I think it must just be that Mr. Koenigsegg grew up loving the P1800, now he's got a few quid he thought "I want my ultimate P1800, someone photoshop up what it'd look like". It'll probably never be produced but you can see his thinking.

Like it's been said before, it couldn't be mass produced if only because it just wouldn't be safe enough :( What a shit reason, just sell the car with a disclaimer saying "Will not save you if you drive badly". We could use it to reintroduce natural selection?

Love you  I bet more people die in boring family saloons than in interesting and beautiful cars (statistics can always be twisted and France now wants to drop beneath the 'x' 000 annual road death total - overy original idea proposed - more speed traps..........)

Natural selection - is that what is applied to motorbikes then, my fine Darwinian friend ?

Speed != kills

If I had a lot oh money, instead of typical philanthropy I'd buy lots of tv adverts and slowly correct all the BS politics has fed us!!

Haha good one on the bikes, bikes require a higher level of skill to survive on, the people I'm trying to naturally select wouldn't have made it past getting the licence ;) Anyway it's often car drivers in their super safety mobile home cinema causing the problem, maybe if they had a prettier (less safe) car they'd pay more attention?
