TBH Im not expecting many on forum replies as my open day and its location are self explanatory. No one actually needs to let me know, they can just arrive either before or after they have been to the "official" swap meet.
Anyone who is restoring a 280ZX will find a HUGE amount of parts including virtually every body panel in top condition but at rock bottom prices.
Plenty of 240/260Z stuff too as you are already aware Sean. In fact I am fairly sure I will have more stock on sale on the weekend than the entire swapmeet sellers put together.
Im sorry you cant make it but you will be there in "spirit" as Im going to open some of that wine you left me recently!!:D:D

Pmac you are kind of missing the point of the swapmeet - it is not just a money making exercise.
Of course you are going to have more stock, but this is about people getting together having a social occasion, meeting up with fellow Zedders and having a laugh. If people have a couple of parts they want to sell then this is the perfect opportunity.
I hope you will come and have a drink with us on the Saturday night:eek:

Well I probably am missing the point Suzy. However the swapmeet was originally proposed because the ability to sell/buy/swap stock at JAE Billing was withdrawn due to insurance /space problems.
The situation has now been resolved for 2005JAE at Peterborough and s/h parts can once again be sold on fully insured pitches. So the need for a pure sale/swapmeet has diminished somewhat. It is good to see the social side of the meet being brought to the fore. I was one of the first members to actually meet Derek when he first bought his car and I fully applaud his efforts.
However my own parts operation has alway had (an undisguised) commercial slant to it. I regularly supply many of the club associated Traders/Restorers with parts as well as Z Club members. My operation ships overnite to the UK and I also supply owners in France. Gemany Spain etc.
I do also try and be friendly and hospitible hence the invitation to all and sundry to come along.

Im afraid the answer here will have to be "I would if I could, but I cant". Some of my Southern buddies in the Zed world are staying over on Sat nite , either with me or at friends nearby. So Im sure we will be givin it large with some of that luverly red vino that Sean left!!!

You just seemed to be having a bit of a dig about the swap meet - I'll have more stock than the swap meet put together - I just wanted to point out that buy and selling is not the solo reason for this meeting
 
Suzy, as you well know I have one of the biggest spades in the club.":eek: Digging " with it is just what I do. Anything/anyone is fair game in my view!!!:) Although Im not really knocking Dereks meet at all.

The flipside to this scenario of course is that everyone is free to have a go back at me!:devil:
I grew up and still operate in a hard knock world so I dont mind the odd knock (intended or not).

And as the saying goes "there is no such thing as bad publicity".
So you and I airing a few differences of opinion is fine by me!

But wot I really want to know is ....are you coming to my sale ???? and if so are you bringing your purse with you??? NIce pair of brake discs to suit early 260??? offers?

Hundreds of parts available. Wheels,tyres,panels(including some 240Z fibreglass doors n bonnet),trim,lights,electrical, brake parts,suspension parts,(Konis) carbs(Hitachis and maybe some Webers) etc etc.
more new stock arriving this weekend possibly.

I'll definitely be there,,,can't drive all that way to dereks swap meet and not finally get to say hello in person as well ! :cool: BTW , I don't see you as detracting from the swap meet at all, just adding to the venue . Once I'm finished helping out at the meet I'll be out for a short visit ! :Z31:
